Same concern here. Are swifts higher?
From what I've read the Konis or certain versions of them may yield less drop than other shocks. Different perch height I guess? |

I presume, from all this, that we share a bar with the E90 335. If the PS bar isn't an E93 M3 unit, does that mean it's the same as what's under the car right now? Or is there ANOTHER BMW 26.5mm sway bar that fits our cars... I guess it's my turn to go to RealOEM and see if I can figure it out. I was planning on the E90/92 M3 bar and Dinan camber plates to improve turn-in and balance but keep it streetable.

Stated drop for Swift R-Spec's is 1"; Eibach Pro's are 1.25". I thought both were from M-Sport height, but there is anecdotal evidence to suggest (R-Spec's, anyway) are from regular, non-sport suspension. Which means only 10-15mm lower than M-Sport. Like PS or Dinan but with higher spring rates. I also like how they say that they made 'em as stiff as possible for use with stock (M-Sport) shocks. But, for how long??? Did some digiging on 26.5mm sway bars: E90/E82 non-sport: P/N 31356796302; E90/E82/E88 M-Sport P/N 31356793312; E90/E92 M3: P/N 31352283515; Kit for E90/E82 PS doesn't note actual bar P/N. I've seen a photo of the packing slip, but couldn't blow it up enough to read it. If it isn't an E90/E92 M3 bar, does that mean it's the M-Sport bar we already have??? Or is there really yet another 26.5mm bar out there. And if so, is it stiffer or softer than the M3 bar? (Not the E93 M3 bar, though - that one's tapered with max dia 28mm and stiffer than the rest.) Isn't research fun?

Well sort of.
But no, the PS bar is not the Msport bar. It's the same thickness but different design. |

I really wish there was a way to get real feedback consistently but so much depends on the person and their biases/preferences it's hard to say. Honestly if you're in the price range to swing Ohlins do it, given the large amount of feedback on how well they ride, your personal preferences/biases are probably covered in that range of reviews.... |

Just reading published reviews of Dinan 1's and 3's, with their springs and special Koni's, and most say the ride has become somewhat "harsh" or "brittle."
For today, it's got me leaning toward a set of CoilOvers.

What else should be on the list for consideration here?

I think we've beat this horse pretty much to death lol....there's really not much else in the "cup kit" type setups that I can think of. There are probably other lower end coilovers but getting feedback/opinions on those will be tougher I'd say (the eibach coilovers, H&R coilovers, etc)

More than Bilsteins or ST's, but in the V1 ballpark and probably worth considering. Choice of linear-rate springs available.

Can I go off topic for a quick minute again since this thread has so much feedback? Budget is my issue. Can someone chime in on after market springs or shocks while retaining either of the other stock items? How are Swifts on stock dampeners? Or B6 with stock springs? Sorry. I'm "bi-curious"!

will be a significant upgrade even on stock springs. I wouldn't run the Swift's with stock dampers. Personally I think the stock suspension works alright once you change out the rear subframe bushes. |
