id still take the 135 and just swap the seats, spoiler and maybe side skirts with this concept and be satisfied .the added carbon fiber is all DIY and really wouldnt save much weight...if/when this comes out im sure the cost would be substantially higher than the 135 which would be the deal breaker for me

The hood replacement is great, we're really only talking about a savings of 30-40 pounds there. To make a meaningful difference they'd have to do the fenders and trunklid as well, and of course, the most important part - the roof, in order to lower the center of gravity. Then of course they should use more Aluminum in the suspension componentry, reduce the amount of asphalt based noise dampening appliques to the body, go with lightweight seats, etc, etc. |

The cross-drilled brakes could be the Brembos and are a performance upgrade.
The seats would save pounds. The rear seat probably weighs less and the arm rests are missing too. The floor covering would appear to offer more weight savings. |

May be lighter wheels as well. ....but a twin turbo 4cyl, or the 3.0 aspirated 6 developing at least 270 would be good too. ( isn't the non turbo inline 6 about 150 lighter ? ) OK, seats, hood, no sun roof, wheels, more lightweight materials in the rear of the car ( with a lighter engine) would save a little over 100 lbs, add a motor that is 150lbs lighter, and it becomes almost 300 lighter than a regular 135 ! it would be nice !! |

Cute, ok, explain to me the matte black finish on the hood if it is CF. Explain the smudges on the shift boot if it is real (look for pic). Explain to me why BMW would have the instrument cluster in opposing colors. Look at the lower side bolsters on the seats and tell me why those are NOT bmw typical. Ok, that is all. |

The finish of the carbon fibre is matte in order to cut down on any glare that might interfere and blind the driver (same reason for the alcantara dash and "tii" windshield banner). The tachometer is white because it is the most critical gauge to keep an eye on when on the track (the speedometer, not so much, so it's still black). I'm not sure what you mean about the smudges in the shift boot? And of course the seat bolsters are going to look different...it's not like the seats themselves are typical BMW, nor are they found in any current BMW. Everything about this car is completely badass. If there are updates under the hood that reflect all these new parts (and if the electronic LSD/power steering get canned) and the suspension is stiffer....sign me up. |

dan550, thanks much for the hi-res photos. I noticed the line sketch drawings is not quite the same as the photos. They seem to be missing some of the extravagant pieces from the concept.
Could that be a rendition of an actual performance package? I would take mine without the stripes but otherwise, sign me up! |
