That is a pretty big change . . . I am thinking PSS 255/35 would fit up front with that liner!

I have a 9.5x18et29 with a 255/35/18 r-s3 on it and it fits with tons of clearance. I will be running a 9.5x18et25 with a 265/35/18. I will post clearance.

This is really useful thanks. The dealer has already replaced my liners and I am still getting some rubbing. It is going back in tomorrow for this again and I will ensure that the modified liners are used this time.

I'm going to try and get these replaced ASAP, I'm running 265/35/19 PSS on the front with h&r springs and have rubbing in parking lot maneuvers in exactly the places these wheel wells are different. I borrowed a heat gun this past weekend to make my own version of these but haven't gotten to it yet, so thank you to the op for taking pictures. With these I would think 255/35/19 would be no issue at all, I went so large in the front solely to balance my rear tires a bit(295/30/19) and took a gamble on fitment and rubbing, but it's not bad and the grip is great, I feel it the most with the brakes, trying to get the new wheel wells or modify mine to get rid of all rubbing on the street so that I can take advantage of the tires during a track day at the end of the month, after that ill know if they're a godsend or ruin the experience at the limits due to rubbing etc but 255/35 with these should be cake.

Part# are apparently still the same (front left part# 51 71 8 051 591 | front right part# 51 71 8 051 592). Pictures of the upgrade made available in Spring 2012 (to be distinguished from the upgrade of Winter 2012/2013) (ha, and BMW still refers to "E-82 M.Pyrat" )

Did you talk to them to make sure they are the new version and not the old? I hate it when BMW reuses part numbers - makes it confusing for everyone.

I'm not sure but you will probably be able to fit a 255/35 19 in there. It will vary slightly depending on wheel offsets, camber and suspension height but I have about a finger worth of room at lock with 255/35/18 on a 9.5x18et29 rim. Do note, for those saying that their car rubs on the back of the tire on the back section of the fender liner, that part has not changed and is the same liner on the e9x m3. |
