Second, since Production has ceased, what is the finally tally of 135is Coupes and 135is Verts shipped to the USA. Mine was a Grey Mineral Metallic COUPE with Savannah Beige but I did not see that combination in your chart. It arrived the New Jersey VPC on May 18th. Would it be safe to say that I have the only one in the country? lol.... THANKS!

It's on the chart you just quoted above. Coupe, mineral, leder boston 2 beige: 2 of them.

I figure it will be about 2 months after the cut off date for a more final tally. That way the cars will be delivered to port and a regional break down can be figured.

There is a built in lead time between order & production. I would think they will stop taking orders well before production stops
Some cars are already confirmed as being built in July, thing to check is if you can actually still order one. BTW looks like mine was 1 of 2 Mineral Gray/Black Boston Leather with Moonlight Black top

I just got an email Wednesday that my 135i has been allocated a factory production slot during the month of August 2013, hopefully I have it by September.

I wonder if BMW is continuing to build the 1 series to take advantage of a spike in demand from people like us who want the last true driver's car? They could shut it down, but why not keep building through August if they have the orders to fill?

Because they will need the line to build other models.

Here is what I am seeing from compiling what I believe to be all 135i Coupe VINs from August 2012 to July 5, 2013
June 29, 2012 to August 29, 2012 256 135i Coupes 80 are P7MFA (135is or M-Sport) May 4 2013 to July 5, 2013 294 135i Coupes 131 are P7MFA (135is or M-Sport) I started a thread regarding How Many 135is here? http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...9#post14274589 Last edited by bp-plickner; 07-05-2013 at 02:33 PM.. |

135is production
Hey guys, I just joined the forum yesterday after I have been researching the 135is for a little while now. I was an e46 m3 owner until last month when I hit a pothole on the interstate and my tire rod broke. Two 360's and a tree later I was in the market for a new car and decided on an IS.
There seems to be much debate over when the IS production will end so let me set the record straight. It hasn't. I work at a BMW dealership and as of yesterday there were 3 more allocations for 135is'. Luckily, my dealership was able to snag one of these allocations for me and I will be putting in my order as soon as I can decide on a color (open for suggestions ). I am also very tempted to hold on to the allocation until I know it's the last one but will probably submit it tomorrow as I can't wait to have it! I will be glad to let everyone know when production stops on these cars. If only I could also see how many there were on US soil! |

The color choice is the hardest, especially since some colors and color combos you really want to see in person before committing but it's really hard to find these in person to see and even online it's hard to find pics of some colors. What colors are you deciding between as some of us might be able to help with pics/videos. Sucks about your car, but think you'll find the IS is pretty comparable, maybe just a hair more detached in feel, but made up for in low end torque and that lovely sound. |

I originally didn't even think about it and quickly decided on exclusive blue stitched Boston leather and lemans blue. I thought it was a no brainer until I saw an alpine white 135i with black csl style wheels, cf defuser and lip and tinted windows that looked so good it was hard to look away. Carbon black still grabs my eye on occasion as well. My M3 was Imola red which I wasn't sure I was in love with at first but became one of those cars that every time you get out of you can't stop looking back as you walk away haha. I'm worried if I go with a AW or CB I might be disappointed its not as bright and eye catching as the lemans blue or the Imola red was. I think you are definitely right with saying you need to see them in person though. As of this second I can't stop thinking about AW with the red seats.... Or maybe MG...
And yes, hearing that exhaust was a huge reason I wanted an IS! |
