Here's the 125i perf exhaust at 3 years, cold start to 4k.
Also added it to my first post so you can compare it to when I first had it installed. |

The PE sounds good enough as it is IMO. |

Just installed my PE today. I went against everyone's advice and installed it without the resonator. I figured the 135 PE doesn't have a resonator so I wouldn't need one either. Well it sounds amazing. It is a tad loud upon acceleration but doesn't seem to drone too bad at speed with the windows up. I am loving all of the burbles and pops when I let off the throttle. I think overall it sounds very exotic and almost Italian (Ferrari, Maserati, Lambo) in its overall sound. We will see if the volume gets on my nerves over time, but the sound itself is just what I wanted, maybe dialed back on the volume a tad lol.

The 135i has a turbo in its exhaust path, which tends to quiet down the exhaust. It's not necessarily a valid comparison, 135i vs. 128i, to what the same configuration would sound like on a turbo vs. an NA engine.

my resonator+muffler delete 128i was way louder than all of the Catless DP+muffler delete 135i's my buddy's have. NA's are just louder thanks to the lack of the turbo like 2tonik said. Turbo's can be considered muffler's in a way.

I don't really have anything that would record the sound well. Tried with my phone and it just sounds terrible. I did end up having a 12" straight through resonator put back in because it was just too boomy inside. So from my experience I would not recommend a PE with no resonator. Either leave your stock one or replace with a smaller one, but running no resonator is not a good idea.

Could anyone let me know what needs to be done to get a 135i berk racing exhaust on a 128i. I was thinking welding a flange on, or would a clamp work? Need some insight please. Thanks!

Resonator delete= loud popping and crackling. Or change the stock muffler to the PE or something else more flowing while leaving the resonator.
I get gunshot like exhaust pops around 3k with my resonator delete catless headers and 135i muffler and it's great.

Has anyone got a clip of their perf exhaust from inside the car?
Seen a couple inside but with the microphone on the outside. Just keen to see what the sound level is like for daily use... |

The general consensus seems to be that with all else stock, it does have a bit of drone at certain RPMs.

I filled the storage tub under the boot floor with a woollen blanket and also around the battery. Made the PE sound a lot quieter inside. I did a "J" pipe mod as well and that eliminated all the drone. Louder than stock, crackles and burbles and comfortable to not get on your nerves.
