I doubt it'll make much of a difference. I could have left the AT cooler on and just pulled the trans lines to act as a second tiny cooler but I'd rather keep it tidy under there.

The beautiful GS6-53BZ MT showed up today. I've got almost everything I need to do the swap so I'm going to start removing the AT this weekend.
Decided to go with XClutch. Purchased the Chromoly Flywheel, 9 in. Twin Solid Organic Clutch Disc kit (XKBM23595-2G), good for 900ft-lb Still waiting for the Turner coolant relocation tank.....

Auto trans out, took about 6 hours. Getting to the trans/engine bolts was the hardest part. Just waiting on the clutch and flywheel now.

Usually a spectator while people build/solve given that everyone has their ideas that work for them, but ….if you’re waiting on shift linkage have you considered alternatives……such as:
https://coolerworx.com/shop/short-sh...r-bmw-gearbox/ or something similar? For me the difference in feel versus the stock linkage was literally night and day. Really appreciate your documentation.

The 9" Solid Organic Twin Disc Clutch from XClutch showed up today. Most of the parts I need to finish up the trans swap and to get the motor started keep getting pushed out so may be a while before the next update..

Bye bye torque converter, hello clutch. I can finish the catch can plumbing and figure out where I'm going to relocate the vacuum canisters while I wait for parts..

Turner expansion tank relocation kit arrived (ordered in Sept), and it looks like a few more parts shipped out. Hopefully I can make some decent progress this month.
Attempting to remove the pilot bearing using grease and Pascal's Law, haven't been able to get it to budge though. May need to get a lever actuated grease gun... Youtube made it look easy using this method...

It pilots into the shaft on the flywheel. You can see it in the second photo in post #100.
Ok, had to bust out the big guns. Couldn't have been easier, 3 pumps and it popped right out. Always use the right tool for the job! (You vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about)

Random black friday purchase. I think they look good, and should make rev-matching downshifts easier.

Can you provide the part numbers used to convert from auto to manual? I’ve search the forums, but there isn’t any information in regards to the 1 series, specifically the 135i.

I plan to put together a DIY once I finish the swap. I'm still waiting on a few things before I put the trans back in and do the coding. Here is a list of what I ordered, not all the PN's are listed though. I used https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select to figure out the parts I needed. Hope this helps.
