FOR THOSE IN AUSTRALIA:
Matt at BMW Sydney told me that the price for the 135i ECU upgrade is currently $3,000. Personally I think it's time people started putting pressure on The Australian franchises to stop ripping people off and charging 3 or 4 times the price for a) cars b) options c) accessories, that our American and European friends pay. Ooft!!!

I was curious to know if the "hold" that you mentioned is due to a legality issue (such as meeting Canadian regulations) or a technical issue (which might have worlwide affect). |

Thanks for the attachment. Very informative read and justifies why the PPK Stage 2 costs so much.

So I was told that the Stage 1 ECU kit will only work until temperatures of 98 degrees C and then it will go back to the original 300 bhp so that it prevents over-heating? What you guys think? Bull-crap or Truth??

Looks like there is no hold up on installs for US cars as it's being done on mine before delivery tomorrow.

Version II in the car!
Finally got my car back this afternoon!! The butt-dyno is VERY HAPPY!!! Pretty AWESOME! The response feels very direct with less lag than before.
Here are some pictures that show the engine bay with some of the new hardware as well as all of the stuff that they replaced. |

It is a lot better than before. I just drove it from the dealer back to my house (7 miles) and the road was wet with light rain. I have to say that every time you push down on the accelerator anywhere in the rpm range, the car just darts forward.
As I get more butt time in the car I will update this. I could not believe the amount of hardware that they actually replaced. |

Just got my Version 1 installed today for $730.00. It was raining when I got my car so I can't give a good opinion yet. I'll have some comments in the coming weeks.

I just wanted to let you know that my car has been in the shop for a week now because of the stage 1 software upgrade. The software installed fine, but afterwards the radio wouldn't work, so they had to order a new part for it and install it. The part and install should be done today. My tech said that most upgrades go fine, but it's problematic for some cars. Unfortunately, mine was one of them. I just hope software upgrade is worth the money and all the time without my car! BTW, I have the N54 engine.
Anyway, just wanted to forewarn everyone that there may still be issues with the software upgrade on certain cars. |

Ok, that's weird. I wonder why the Stage 1 upgrade would be incompatible with some part in the radio.
