Hi Kenny, i have a question about one of your least exciting mods - the CDV (Clutch Delay Valve). Im interested in this and was wondering if there is a noticable improvement (for quick shifts and relaxed daily driving) over the standard restrictive CDV and would you recommend it to all 6MT owners?

Hi Kenny, thanks for sharing the build. It was an interesting read for me as I also had a 135i project which started in 2008. It was quite different back then as not many parts were available and often I become the R&D car. But I had Andrew doing the build for me so it made my life much easier. Also, my car was built as a track car as opposed to a daily driver drag car (haha is there such a thing?), so outright power was not my aim, rather the maximum reliable power was key to me. For example, temperature management with things like a larger custom SBM radiator was subsequently required, and even then I still run into problems if I run any more than 4-5 laps at a time. Other big difference between our builds are LSD (I used Drexler as it is more "hardcore" for the track), big brakes (fully recommend the AP racing one I had!), and wider front to dial out understeer. Will be interesting to see where you end up with this car!

A real gentleman. As for LSD and Drexler, that is a future mod. I'll share some photos of the custom made Drexler diff and half shafts assembly I had made for my BMW M Coupe project. The Drexler guys are top notch engineers. AP Racing are great brake systems too, and if I upgraded the brakes on my E82 I'd go with AP Racing. I'll also share the AP Racing/Brembo brake setup on my M Coupe for interest sake. Having been in the late model car modding game for some time, I know that it is important to remember what you're trying to achieve with any particular car. This car is my daily driver, and it's never going to be tracked at a circuit. So I don't need bigger brakes or circuit suspension. An LSD on the other hand is a no brainer!

Hey Kenny, have you fitted an oil cooler in your car? If so, which one did you go with? I noticed Stett has come out with stg 1 and stg 2 kits. It looks promising.

OMG, I cant believe I haven't seen this thread earlier! Completely awesome stuff, I wish I was in sydney so I could have a look!
Just slightly curious about the gain you've gotten from the exhaust? I've got a somewhat simlar set-up on my 335i performance wise but cant seem to match your numbers so I was wondering if something was going wrong with autotune as I've switched to V5. Currently running: AA intercooler Stett Charge Pipe Forge diverter valves Catless downpipes (Standard piping with M3 muffler - partially gutted) Procede + Meth (wavetrac lsd if that makes any difference?) 20" rims (although they were lighter than my oem 18"!) Just jumped onto the dyno dynamic today on shootout 6 mode and was only able to make 257.7rwkw which is actually less that what you made without meth! Although admittedly I have a feeling that Meth isn't kicking in (I did switch on the meth using the key fob) or perhaps I haven't autotuned properly!? Given your success I was hoping you could share some insight? We've tried a 3-4 runs on the dyno to get autotune to do its thing (I was on map 4 {meth map}) as given its the xmas season I dont really want to do full throttle runs in 3rd on the street. If any other have some input it'd also be very welcome as I'm somewhat confused now..........

Make sure your meth is working. I have done 2 cars in Sydney with Meth (including this one) on two different dynos and both were more than 270kW ATW. You should get the indicators coming on to indicate meth flow if you have the meth working and setup correctly. If not, you should log the meth flow parameter in the Procede software, and check you are getting to the expected flow. I would expect to gain around 30+kW with meth.

Just going through the thread again, can you confirm you only made 24.9kw by adding an intercooler AND downpipes/exhaust? Doesn't sound like a lot, I was under the impression downpipes should add around 20-25kw alone?

Hi, I am running the OEM oil cooler setup right now. I've been speaking to Fred SU at Evolution Raceworks about their twin race oil cooler setup. I'd be comparing the Dinan kit with the ER kit if I was in the market.

All the mods and the gains from each are documented in the thread. Yes the full boltons showed a ~25 rwkw gain over a PROcede alone.

I like the Dinan range but they are on the expensive side. I believe their oil cooler is around $1600 from memory. I haven't looked into the ER setup yet.
