Has anyone tried Vista BMW in FL? I spoke to someone two or three days ago who said they had an open allocation. I never took it since I had two deposits out already. Let me know if anyone gets it.

VO 1M on eBay - Didn't sell?
I was watching the last few minutes of the VO 1M on eBay; with under ten minutes to go, the high bid was at about $55k...then the listing was canceled, saying the item was no longer for sale. I heard that the reserve was about $59k...I wonder if the dealer realized it wouldn't sell and pulled it because if the car doesn't sell, that hurts their ability (and presumably that of other dealers as well) to charge premiums?
Anybody know what might have happened to this auction? I was really curious about this, since I figured it would tell what the value of this car is on the "open market". If someone has more information (i.e. dealer closed the sale with 8 minutes remaining), please post. |

Interesting indeed. I just talked to Rick at Germain in Naples, FL (the one with the 65k VO on Ebay). He said they were waiting to see what was going to happen with the Ebay auction to see if they could sell the car at a premium. Based on what happened to that auction that just closed and the fact that there are 0 bids on the one at 65k (with 1 day to go) the dealers may come back down to MSRP. Seems like some thought a $10k premium was viable. In fact, Germain said they'll probably just sell at MSRP if nothing comes of the Ebay auction (still with about 1k in dealer forced options). He didn’t have any information on whether someone was already lined up for it if it didn’t sell on ebay so there might be a VO available right after that auction.
This might also be a sign that the initial hysteria that blew up might be settling down and all those that had to have the car like now, have been satiated and what is left might be a little more reasonable in sales. I can’t remember, have all ~1000 cars been spoken for in sales or allocations? Or just half right now and more allocations to be released later this year at BMWs discretion? I plan on buying one. Whether that happens new or used seems to be the question now. I didn't really pay too much attention to the 1M when news first came out and the pics just didn't do it for me, but then I saw it in person and it totally changed my mind. Plus, it hitting every philosophical sweet spot I have on driving (and not to be overly dramatic), it's the car that I've been waiting a long time for. But it would be the car that’s all “super limited edition”.
But I'm still too conservative by nature to kowtow to dealers and exorbitant prices. I think the MSRP is rather high, but acceptable to me knowing the particulars of this car. But anything over that and I’m holding my ground. And probably a big reason I’m considering new, other than the option to spec what I want, is ED and PCD. But I can let the ED go for some other time when that’s more feasible, but a PCD would be worth the premium of buying new at MSRP. I don’t know, it’s the eternal struggle between now or later. |

Hello,
I am sending you a quick follow-up as per your interest to the 2011 BMW 1M. Due to the availability as you probably know the car has been very rare. We have a very good customer that will be trading in his 1M. It is immaculate, never tracked, and not even broken in. He has purchased quite a few cars from us in the past, but because the 1M does not have the DCT he is not a huge fan. Currently the car has about 700 miles, but I will confirm the exact miles. I am emailing this to quite a few people and the first person with a deposit will get the car. I am one of 8 sales advisers doing the same. If this is the car you want please call and I can take it off the market with a non-refundable deposit. The sales manager is FIRM at $56,900. Here is the breakdown of options and packages: Model 111D 1 Series M USD 46,135.00 Color 300 Alpine White N/C Upholstery LWNZ Black Boston Leather with orange stitching N/C Options ZCV Convenience Package 2,700.00 302 Anti-theft alarm system N/C 322 Comfort Access keyless entry N/C 507 Park Distance Control (rear only) N/C 609 Navigation system N/C ZPP Premium Package 2,400.00 430 Auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors N/C 431 Auto-dimming rearview mirror N/C 459 Power front seats with driver seat memory N/C 488 Lumbar support N/C 563 Ambiance lighting N/C 639 BMW Assist with Bluetooth N/C 6FL iPod and USB adapter N/C 442 Cupholders N/C 494 Heated front seats 500.00 615 Online Information Services N/C 620 Voice-command N/C 655 Satellite radio with 1 year subscription 350.00 688 Harman Kardon surround sound system 875.00 6AA BMW TeleServices N/C 6AB TeleService Control N/C 6NF Smartphone Integration N/C 6NR BMW Apps 250.00 6UH Real Time Traffic Information N/C 6VC Combox controller N/C Net Total 53,210.00 Destination Charge 875.00 Total Suggested Price 54,085.00 Sincerely, Will Fox Internet Sales Director | Sandia Automotive Corp. Yeah, I checked it out. The car was titled to the first owner (making the car "used" in my mind, so certainly not worth the nearly $3k premium - should be the other way around). It was available an hour ago and I offered MSRP. Haven't heard back since, so maybe somebody else was willing to pay more.

was the car titled to the sales manager? That car has every single option LOL.
EDIT Just got a call on this myself.. turns out it is a customer that buys cars frequently. Sales guy that called me said the buyer has has 6 BMWs in the last year or so... guy keeps the cars immaculate (how can you not at 2 months apiece) and doesn't keep them long. This one has sustained a rock chip on the hood, which should be repairable. Last edited by M3 Adjuster; 07-16-2011 at 11:28 AM.. Reason: update |

another allocation...
I received a call yesterday from Drew Nguyen (501-224-3200) at BMW of Little Rock advising that they have an allocation... Last time I talked with him, in mid June, they were asking for 2K over MSRP...

Euro Delivery - Dallas
Hi all - I've been a Porsche owner in the past (and a BMW owner a LONG time ago) and I'm seriously considering a 1M order. Anyway . . . I'm in Dallas and talked to two dealers here today:
Classic BMW - WILL do Euro Delivery and will take an order but their 2012 allocation is not announced yet so they have no idea when the car would be built, probably 6+ months for delivery. MSRP minus ED discount. BMW of Dallas - no ED, 6+ months for an order. MSRP. |

I have an order with them (#3 on their list), placed about 6 weeks ago...I heard they were no longer taking deposits. Maybe this has changed.
If you're joining the game right now, I suspect you'll find most dealers are waist-deep in waiting lists (and possibly deposits), but this thread has so far proven that there are unspoken allocations/cars out there. It might cost a little more than MSRP, but there are cars. I hope you find one - it would be great to have a small collection of the cars in DFW! |

FYI - the 1M is only a 2011 model year vehicle, so there will be no 2012 allocation. Good luck with your search.

For those looking for an allocation, make like a surfer and head out past the ridge and wait for the next wave of allocations to come out early august. |
