What I get from the thread is that there is little gain in technical suspension performance going from OE to M3 bits in the back, unlike the pretty much universally agreed upon gains from the front OE to M3 bits mod. But there should be no harm.

Things get a little more complicated in the back. In the rear the upper guide arm is worth it. The upper camber arm doesn't really do much except reduce a few hundred grams (and obviously looks better). The trailing arm is the same already. The toe arm bushings in the rear have a ton of compliance in them and should be replaced, however the M3 ones are NOT a bolt on replacement. Most people use Megan toe arm replacements in the back, there are also some sphericals as well like the bimmerworld or rouge engineering arms, if you are willing to go solid. |

I am always tempted by the "make offer" option...

Is the lower camber arm completely incompatible between the M3 and non-M? It looks like the bushings are the same but the wheel carrier / hub are very different. The shock bolts in differently as well.

Definitely shoot me details when you have a moment, might be the missing link for my rear end work.

Thanks.
Questions: Stock nonM subframe? What toe arm did you use? Why the E46 damper instead of the 1M/M3 damper?

KEY NOTE IN HIS PICTURE ABOVE: you see he could not use the upper powerflex bushing. This is the issue I had when I ordered the single action 1m rear shock. I could not get the nut to thread using the stock or Dinan bushings. Once TC confirmed the DA 1M shock had a longer threaded shaft, I swapped them out. A lot of wasted time trying to get the SA to work and I had to spend more money, but it worked out in the end because I love the DA rear shock. I have stock subframe, m3 LCA, and am using the bimmerworld toe arm for a non M e82. The only piece that is custom I believe is the little headlight level sensor bracket that mounts to the LCA. HPA makes one, but it only comes with their LCA kit.

Yes, stock subframe. Stock toe arms work, too, though I have the Rogue bits. I didn't look into the 1M/M3 shaocks as I wanted the Konis, but I'm sure they're a drop in.

Sorry was referring to the E46 SA damper. Is it the same as the 1M SA?

Think the Misumi washer can be installed with the remaining pieces of the Dinan RSM?
