It's still 19 here. I've been buying since I was 16. I would go in after my 17 and 18 year old friends were refused service.

Living a 30-40 minute drive away from the ambassador bridge was glorious when I was 19-21. I effectively spent every Friday and Saturday in Windsor for two years.

I actually had that thought as I was posting, but we were 21 for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, it was 19 across the river, but it was 21 there too by the time I was 19.

I was in DC for college when it was 18 for beer & wine and 21 for liquor, so I had that for a couple of years, but the story above is from when I was back home and turning 21.

I can answer that question! NJ made the jump to 21 before NY, and you must have been clubbing there with all of the cool kids.....

Sounds good, but no NJ in those days. We did “The City” or the Long Island clubs. Funny part is that I was going out way before I was legal and rarely got proofed, except for one local club in Brooklyn. They never let me in even with my fake ID.

I don't know if its changed, but when I was in the Navy here in Kommieforynastan, the state drinking age was (still is) 21.... BUT, on base it was 18.

In 1967 I was drafted into the US Army at age 20. After going through
the induction physical in my home state of California, I was sent to Ft.
Bliss, TX for basic combat training. I think the minimum drinking age for
both states at the time was 21. Makes one wonder, but then, I wasn’t
much of a drinker.
