I went to grad night at Disneyland with my then-girlfriend when she graduated in 1969. I have photos at her graduation, but none at grad night. Too bad. It was a very fun night.

I found the program for that night on line.

Wifey had a conference in Anaheim about 14 years ago. Our hotel room overlooked Disneyland. While Wifey was attending her conference, I walked around DL on a very hot day taking pics. Then we went back at night so Wifey could see it all. Got to watch the fireworks over the castle every night right from our balcony.

Good choice. I went to Disneyland with my kids and grandkids about
10 years ago and and while I enjoyed being with my family, I detested
the insane crowds. It almost felt claustrophobic at times. Went to take
a leak and the men’s room had piss everywhere. I’ll never go back.

Yeah, I've been to both Disneyland and Disney World. My late sister lived in Orlando, so I've been to Disney World a couple of times. Every time I've been to a "Disney," it's been hot as hell, crowded, and expensive. And that was all years ago. Now I understand it's gotten *really* expensive and even more crowded. No thanks.

Great photos!

Your post reminds me of the time my wife and I went to Disneyland with our two-year-old. We were itching to get out of the house and go somewhere but we were worried that our son (now 47!) wouldn't last the day, even in a stroller. Solution: Get a room at the Disneyland Hotel and take the monorail in and out of the park whenever we needed a break. It was a great visit. We started early because at the time they let Disneyland Hotel guests into the park an hour early via monorail. We came back to the hotel a couple of times during the day for naps and relaxation. It was a pricey but worth it way to go to Disneyland as young parents.

I forgot to mention that my then-girlfriend and I met two years before that in 1967. I don't have to remember what every happened to her because we dated for years and then got married in 1972. She's sitting on the couch right next to me as I write this post! Here are a couple of photo of us back before we got married.

I am very lucky indeed.

Great topic. Annoying earworm song. Horrible band name: Starland Vocal Band?

That said, sing it with me now!

There's a winery near us that has a restaurant we'd go to more often, except the music there is the world's largest collection of annoying earworm songs.

Would you rather it be Captain & Tennille? (I'm intentionally *not* posting the name of any of their songs, to avoid the ear worm effect.)

An interesting thing that I just discovered when searching for Starland Vocal Band's history is that two of their founding members wrote "Take Me Home, Country Roads" (West Virginia) with John Denver.....

Thank you for not mentioning Love will keep us together or Do that to me one more time. These songs are definitely earworm songs and I appreciate you not mentioning them.

I was thinking about what some consider the #1 ear worm of the 1970's, involving two rodents courting.....

That's the one that's been caught in my head since someone mentioned the Capt and Toenail.

The irony of course is that their songs were mostly about love, romance, and intimacy. These three things are what Tennille said the Captain was lacking and therefore the reason she filed for divorce.

What a shame.
