So jealous. The Valkyrie has been sidelined all summer due to a failed clutch slave cylinder and a flood event that has me concentrating on repairing my bridge. Bridge is almost done (should be complete tomorrow). Slave cylinder just arrived Friday last week. Hope to wrench it into place over the weekend and ride next week!

Yes Sir! We'll see what digging into the slave cylinder will bring. Along with the new cylinder, I have a new oil seal that keeps the crankcase oil out of the slave cylinder cavity and vice versa. I'm hoping I can replace that seal without removing the rear engine cover.

Half day ride planned tomorrow. Weather should be good. Slight chance of light rain at the end of the day, shouldn't affect the ride.

Rode almost 200 miles! Great day in rural farmlands, mid-70sF and sunny. Rode with a friend who was on a Tiger 900 GT, nice bike. I can see that one as my move-up bike.

Some of life’s essentials…

How is the slave cylinder project progressing?

It is on the agenda this afternoon. Thanks for asking. My week is now comprised of "7 Saturdays". The past few days were catching up with yard work before the rains came in on Sunday evening (I have a big yard - LOL). This week partially earmarked for mechanical work. The Valk's slave cylinder and the Z4's two trouble codes; one is a SES light and the other is the brake wear indicator. The brake wear indictor is a result of a rodent chew on the sensor wiring harness, which I repaired last week. The SES light is most likely just a cat converter error because after I repaired the wires for the brake sensor I drove the car 700 feet and parked it. I just need to reset the error code (I hope - lol).

I was a BMW motorcycle guy before I was a car guy. I haven't really ridden in a long time, but with the weather starting to turn in central Texas I am going to try to get the bike(s) out of their sad state and put some miles on them.

Started off with an R100/7, rode that thing all over California in the early 2000's.

When I moved back to central Texas I bought an R1100S and promptly totaled it.

I then bought another R1100S which I still. I rode it all over the south of the mason dixon line so to speak putting on 40k+ miles on it. I still have but after a failed differential bearing I parked it in favor of the HP2S, so it's been sitting since 2009.

I ended up buying a R1200SHP2 in 2009 I think it was and absolutely loved that bike. I made a ton of friends, and even won a trip to Germany via BMW Motorrad with it where I was in the BMW Motorrad world wide calendar. Its got about 35k miles on it now and is likely one of the worst condition but not totaled bikes out there so it'll likely never be sold.

Most of my buddies moved onto dual sports and GS's so I ended up getting a good deal on a R1200GSA and have ridden it all over the country now. I met my wife, we got married, I opened a BMW repair shop and life has pretty much just not included motorcycles so the GS has been sitting for years now too.

Hopped on the Tiger Sport 660 and made a 1.5 hour local tour around lakes and seeing beautiful fall color. Lunch was waiting for me in the top case and I stopped along the side of the road and enjoyed it in the sunny low-50sF weather. A great day!

Currently in beautiful Portimão, Portugal, enjoying Motogp with 150 000 bike fans.
One of the best days of my life, and it was only a training day.
These things are the loudest vehicles i have ever heard, hands down.
When they come to USA or where you live, go and see for yourself, best spent 120$ for the whole weekend.
