It is crazy how much better those gauges look!

Today: Got a pair of OEM roof racks in the mail from bimmerboyE92 (great seller, btw) Had those mounted within ten minutes of the package hitting my doorstep. I'm going to bolt on a low-profile cargo rack because I think my 1er is a truck. In the springtime, I'll haul my kayak on them.

Loving every minute with this car so far. One day, I might even wash it.
That oil filter shouldn't be distorted like that. It has to be pushed into the cap until it snaps into place.

Haven't get a chance to drive it properly. The car bushings were in terrible shape before the upgrades. And the struts are officially gone. Lots of noise especially on the fronts as of now. Can't wait for my coilovers to arrive.

My first impression: the rear is much firmer, no more rubbery rear roll. Definitely more NVH but i'm fine with it. However, there seems to be vibration on my steering wheel when the car is stationary. The guys were saying it's due to the thicker sway bar and new control arms. Will continue to observe it. The car handles power differently. Acceleration felt really brutal and immediate, fyi it's a mfactory LSD 3.46. It totally transformed the car.

Control arms, bushings, LSD, DP, not exactly sure which of those mods play the biggest change to the car but i'm glad i did it. Just purchased MHD Stage 2 maps. Time to go stage2+

i had brought my car with around 92k miles to the local BMW dealer to inquire on getting my DCT serviced given my mileage.

my dealer mentioned that it is lifetime fluid and that i should wait closer to 125k miles to do this service. they also mentioned that it could actually make things worse if i do it 'early'.

how true is this? sounds weird to me.

wasn't feeling the all black grills on my car - made the front end look like it was missing something. I swapped the chrome slats from the stock grills into the gloss black surrounds. I think it looks far better and a little unique, too.

It's honestly not that difficult. It took me about 45 minutes to re&re everything in the center stack but it's so much extra work for no damn reason other than a shitty design

Maybe try 128i grilles with the chrome surrounds?

I don't think there's anyway it could make things worse, that's some backwards thinking right there. That would also mean that when the car rolled off the line the transmission was worse than it is now, it apparently ages like a fine wine according to that dealer?

If you get your service at a dealer or at a local indy, I think the most important part will be to make sure they reset all the adaptations.

I got to pay for a new wheel and tire today! I can't believe there was a trailer hitch in the middle of Highway 121 in Grapevine. Hitting that at 65 miles an hour does not do a wheel good.

Eww.

If it makes you feel any better. I've run over 3 ladders in my 1er in Charleston.

Yeah, I wish I'd done CF now...no need to try painting it, then failing, then wrapping it ( Matticus91 ) and it peeling 3 months later. Ugh...

Looks great! Enjoy the extra headroom

the litter in the roadways around the state is pretty nasty. It's like constantly dodging landmines these days.

I have not found dealerships to be a good place for anything truthful or beneficial. Many of the M3/M4 folks have been doing the fluid change at 50k, and it's only helpful.

at 50k, it may be a bit pre-cautious, but seeing my fluid and filters at 100k, it looked well over due. I think I'll do it again at 150k.

Doing it is really pretty easy to DIY, Besides having a good fresh fluid, cleaning the magnets of all the accumulated particles is always a great thing to get that abrasive solution out.
