Hey Esteban,
And? Where is the video man? Want to do the same but need video for the final step. I'm not living in US so I guess My Plan is doing it with this: https://www.dinancars.com/product/d9...ries&mid=1139/ Thoughts? Videos? mp3 clips? =D Thanks! Raul |

Sometimes mine pops, but I can’t predict when it happens or how to make it happen.

I don’t understand your question. If you have the PE and PPK and replace the tune with a Dinan, you keep your sounds.

I never had the PPk, but I have PE and Dinan S2 and I get lots of pops and burbles.
I make them happen all the time, mainly by engine braking at low power settings. Sounds gorgeous when driving next to a Jersey barrier.

I'll try to get some clips on the phone tomorrow.

I was debating getting Dinan S2, but the PPK is just right for a stock car IMO.
Regarding "controlling" the sound, when engine braking you can extend the burble-fest infinitely by small throttle inputs. As long as you modulate the go-pedal slightly, the braap-brap-brapbrapbrap-braap persists until you let go. Way too much fun for it to be legal. |

Yep, i'm addicted to that sound as well. Don't want to lose it.
That's the reason to request a video with dinan s2 + ppk to hear if that "burbling noise during engine overrun conditions" is the same as the one I currently have. Thanks! |

I can confirm you don't lose your burble sound. Love the Dinan S2. But you gotta be careful. With stock smooth power delivery, until your right foot calibrates with the new tune, you will hit 100 unintentionally all the time. I have the speed warning set up just to avoid tickets.

I am actually considering being the guinea pig on this experiment by going from Dinan S2 to PPK and see if my sounds increase (I already have decent pops and burbles, but I now think less than PPK).
Then my plan is to have my Dinan flashed back (I've already paid for it, so it's just the cost of labor) and see if the increased sounds (if there are any) stay and if the whole is greater than any of the parts individually. The downside is that this experiment will probably cost me about $600. If it gives me better sounds, it'll be worth it. If not, well, at least we'll know. The only downside is that I don't have a GoPro or anything other than an iphone to record.

Update:
I am having the PPK installed today. My dealer offered it at a ridiculously cheap price. Yes, I am going from Dinan S2 "down" to PPK to see if the sound improves. I expect it will. Then I will reflash my Stage 2 to see if it changes (gets less) and will be able to compare having been Dinan Stage 2 without PPK with Dinan Stage 2 WITH PPK. I know there have been many who say the Dinan completely overwrites whatever flash is there, but I no longer believe this. I think it only overwrites the files/parameters it needs to to get its job done and leaves the rest as they were, which is why guys like Steve going from PPK to Dinan sound the same when making the change, and have more/better sound than people like me who skipped the PPK and went right to Dinan. Anyway, the price of the PPK right now, even from a dealer, is too cheap to pass up if it gives me those sounds. And after all that is done (flashed to PPK then back to Dinan), I am going to add a catted DP for more auditory acrobatics. I'm gonna make that PE sing!

Curious to see your outcome. I have Dinan S2 without PPK and I did lose the burbles. But equally amused with new torque and HP!
You will reinstall S2 - how/cost?

I would have to go to my dealer who installed it, but since I've paid for the product, all I would have to pay for is labor (1.5 hours?) to re-flash.

The installation charge from my indy shop was $65 when I got Dinan S2 in 2016. Wonder what that would be now? It took roughly 30 minutes for the whole process. What do you think your dealer will charge? Don't know their hourly rate these days.

My indie that did the Dinan S2 tune said they don't charge for any reflashes. I just pay once.
