Although the signal to noise ratio is pretty good on this message board, I'm occassionally frustrated by folks (not necessarily the OP) who seem either not to have done their homework about the 1M or who seem to be in denial and/or protesting about details that have been disclosed about the car. Again, this is a general observation and not specific to the OP. Now back to our regulary scheduled programming. Neil |

They should have made cupholders optional. That would've been a great nod to the E30. Also a completely useless center console for holding much more than a pair of sunglasses.
I would've gotten premium package in a heartbeat but now that it contains power seats...I'll have to think twice. |

Just a general observation... some posters add to the noise level in this forum by trying to be "smart," when they're not in a position to definitively say one way or the other. Again, not directed at any specific individuals. One aspect of this forum that I've appreciated in the past is the open dialogue among insiders and the "user community." I was hoping that someone with actual insight would respond to my question. Last edited by blueshark; 12-22-2010 at 04:23 PM.. |

It's good to see a variety of people are interested in the 1M Coupe. Something worth saying is that BMW M Division wants/needs to show BMW their niche cars still turn a profit. Otherwise, future "special" M models won't happen with the same thinking as the past great ones. For example, the Z3 M Coupe was made in secret and then brought to BMW who obviously thought it was a good idea. The Z4 M Coupe was never going to happen according to BMW for many years after the Z4 was born. It seems to be the trend and I really like it. Anyway, if they are trying to keep MSRP low then the options are what is going to make them the profit they need to justify this project and future ones. This isn't new thinking as all car manufacturers are doing it to some extent now. Most of you already know this but the complaining about the packages, sunroof, etc are getting really old. Just my .02.

Another fail in BMW's part in my opinion to not have HUD in an M car. Not available for the M3, so I figured this would be the same. Still, it should be available in all M cars.

Everyone should relax- Things are not written in stone and I have it on good authority that the current order sheets may not be final. That is all I can say in print but I am sure if someone opts to listen to the latest podcast they can expand here a bit. (Not trying to promote anything- just saying the info is out there)

This is what BMWNA published (see attachment). While not exact specifics is does mention some stuff.
My sales person called me yesterday asking if I: A) still wanted the car and B) what options I wanted even though they didn't really have anything specific as far as pricing. The options as mentioned are what she said over the phone. I have been #1 on the list since the concept 135 tii was shown. I still am dismayed with a 3,296 posted weight. Porky car. I am happy no sunroof is offered (perhaps it should have been an option). It would be nice to know if there was a reasonable amount of camber adjustment, too. The few 135s I have driven really chewed up tires (Hoosiers or Drizzias). The dealership was not gouging for a deposit either. Shame on the dealership in Dallas for shaking down you folks. So I've wandering back on here for the first time since I autocrossed a 135 at the SCCA Solo Nationals in 2008. Hardly a Phoenix rising.
