How on earth do you remove these things. Thinking about doing a similar mod (well getting rid of the horizontal slat) but have found a mesh grill very similar to the mesh grill found in the centre. So am thinking of taking them out to do some plastic surgery.

The other day I was walking back to my car and the first thing that caught my eye was this mod. It's still growing on me
Stop by a hardware store and pick up a $2 hacksaw blade? It takes all of about 2 minutes per side. |

Do it! I love mine with it done. I used a dremel with a flexible head on it, it was easy and you can't notice where I cut it unless you get down on the ground and look closely.

This seems easy...I just have to decide if I love it or not. Thinking I could paint that area and the plastic mesh over the IC Matte black to match my new ICarbon Kidneys. |

Finally had "certain parts" redone in order for the front bumper to fit flush with the hood and fenders after an IC mod. Please ignore the tape covered lower front bumper.

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in...Finished doing this a little bit ago and very happy with the outcome. It took me a bit longer than the 5-10 mins posted here.. Maybe an hour for both sides, sanding and painting the area.. Great initial post though, very happy!

I must be the only person who is hating this mod...
I did it because one side had broken halfway off (no idea how!) so I went into with a bad attitude because it was broken... Now that I finished up both sides all I can stare at is the gaping hole that is 100 times more visible without that cross piece... Maybe it'll get better? As of now tho I am set on buying a new pair and painting them before putting them in...

What is the consensus for what to do to cover up where the attachment point was?

I used a dab of touchup paint after sanding flush... no one will ever notice.

Just did this to mine a few days ago, worked really well. Took 5 mins to do, I suck at this stuff b/c I'm impatient and it still came out great. I had just one day of minor regret a few days after I did it, but that's all. All in all I'm quite happy, looks good.
