Is there anybody else that has input to this SIB 12-09-12 DME update? I'm taking my car in next Friday and want to make sure I'm not making a mistake in terms of losing exhaust note and a detune.

I would like to know the same thing. Losing Exhaust note doesnt really bother me but a de-tune does. A dyno run between the 2 would be a great comparison...
I want to do something though because the hesitation drives me nuts and is potentially very dangerous especially if it's raining. I may have the dealer do this when it's in for the battery cable recall. Mt wife's RSX is more predictable than my 1er when pulling away from a stop...just aint right..lol

I just got mine back from a reprogram, problem seems to have improved but not entirely eliminated, exhuast note gone but if anything the performance sees to have increased, dct still clutch spins for a sec or so before taking off like a rocket when It kicks back though. does anyone else experience this problem?

Hi, my car is doing this as well and my SA told me its because the TC is cutting the power because of the amount of torque the car has. Before i tell him about the update, I have a Cobb coming my way next week and wanted to know if that would help remedy the hesitation?

I just started having this issue. It is worse with the AC on. Happens in all modes.
Car is 2013 a 135is I bought last July on CPO. This would suggest to me that a software update won't fix it. |

Or get a flash tune - that would also solve the problem.

I took the car in for the throttle response / bogging issue and asked about DME SIB-12-15-14. The tech. indicated that I already had newer software - 15-11-500.They "cleared adaptations". I wonder if using the car as a daily driver and getting mired in stop and go traffic may cause improper adaptations to occur over time? The problem is fixed and the cool engine sounds were not adversely affected.

Same problem on our 2012 135i DCT. I have scheduled an appointment (third time complaining about the same thing) and will request the DME SIB 12-15-14 software update. After it is installed, I will update this thread.
January 2017 update; the dealer states that they verified that on my last visit (1,000 miles ago) they had already included this software update. The lead technician reset other things (throttle position etc..) and suggested we drive it for a while (like we haven't done that before). It always drives better for a little while after the dealer resets everything, so it is ok today. We have been driving for a week now, not really long enough to re-learn much; plus it is colder now. I will report back in a couple months to see if the issues return. Last edited by Sthomson77; 01-28-2017 at 09:15 AM.. Reason: Update after service visit |

Don't know if updating the DME will overwrite your PPK but if it does, won't they just reflash it for you? Afterall, it was dealer installed.
