You over-estimate people. They are like cows. Have you ever spent any time watching cows in a field? It might be instructive:-)
Cows is a poor analogy. I prefer the term "sheeple."

Also, I'll take my broken in Rainbow flip-flops over some overly expensive Italian flop-flips. Well made and comfortable.

I don't know how you guys can handle that piece that goes between the toes. Ouch! Very uncomfortable for me. But then again maybe I wasn't trying the right flip flops.

(Note to self... must... go... to... Italy)

Mostly made in China now, due to some ridiculous California over-regulation of their manufacturing process. Not very comfortable for me as they are too tight, obviously depends on how your foot is shaped. Also not a craftsman-type product, rather a manufactured product, and mostly of synthetic materials.

I would use them for washing the car, however :-)

Yeah, I love living here in California, but sometimes they can be a little much with all their rules and regulations. I just read where an LA judge ruled that coffee sold in CA must now carry cancer warnings. Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, 7-Eleven, etc. are going to love that.

Haven’t posted here in ages but I also noticed how the 135is prices have leveled off and started creeping up. I traded mine at a dealer nearly 3 years ago and got 30k (32,000 mikes) and I see that’s what they’re going for nowadays. But that’s not entirely surprising considering most 135’s in general are in the high mileage range so the few 2013’s with low mileage will now fetch a premium. Throw in the low production #’s for the IS and it sorta makes sense... for us current and former IS owners we all knew this was the next modern ZHP...

The 135is is a cool car, but ZHP had many more changes vs. the 330i than the 135is vs 135i, so that car makes more sense to me at a large premium. Special suspension changes, physical engine changes (more than just software,) a custom color, special gauges, etc. The only things the 135is gets you that you can't easily add to a 135i for a few grand are a few interior differences, namely blue thread and a dash badge.

It's that dash badge and //M stickers all over the place. Oh and the special wheels.

I agree. Low mileage 2013 we're in the sweet spot for the 135is right now. In 10, 20 years we'll just have to wait & see.

I didn’t mean it in the literal sense. My point was the 135is is next closest thing to a ZHP (and how close vs actually being one is less important). Similar to how the ZHP was a special edition of a 330i but still no m3, the 135is was a special edition of a 135i though still no 1M. Both were fairly low production. The ZHP now fetches a premium (unjustifiably high IMHO), and given recent data points perhaps the 135is may also do down the route of the ZHP.

Yes it’s far easier to recreate a 135is but end of day ZHP prices remain high because it’s supported by enthusiasts/purists. And I imagine these same folks would feel the same way about a true 135is from factory over an unofficial one. I’ve seen plenty of E46’s with ZHP bumper, intake, interior retrofits as well but nobody values it close to a real ZHP.

End of day, think we all agree these are all special cars, ‘is’ or not. Like I said before even I was surprised to see what they’re going for, but there’s a clear delta on 2013 ‘is’ vs non ‘is’.

Yeah, but it's still a lot more difficult to do a full ZHP conversion, considering the engine and suspension mods. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, the 135is is more like the Porsche Design Edition stuff, whereas the ZHP was a bit more like a Carrera GTS. I think once prices and mileage settle, the 135is will and should command a premium over the 135i, but not 50% more like I'm seeing lately, which is bonkers.

The IS upgrades are not worth a premium in my opinion.

BMW performance wheels, performance exhaust, performance power kit, and some badging? If it had much better suspension it'd be better.

The parts list came from your pdf (thanks), the images I got from google. Are the photos yours as well? (If so, thanks)

I was surprised when someone above said "What extra cooling gear?" so I thought it would be a good idea to show what that extra cooling gear was for all to see.
