Bias toward who? PROcede - no. JB3 - no. Standback - not available.
YOU SHOULD PULL TIMING WHEN UPPING BOOST - applies to any and all situations. One more thing, Laloosh is not a part of P3 Performance or cp-e. He just knows his shit. |

Knowing that you're a private installer. Why are you so ANTI-JB3? Procede and JB3 seem to work great and without problems. Is it possible that he's doing something different that others haven't figured out yet? |

His posts are negative in nature towards both JB3 and the procede. He is clearly promoting CPE products which he sells.

I'm pretty anti PROcede and JB3. I don't really like one-tune-fits-all kinds of things. I learned by tuning my mazda and understanding what does what and I prefer a setup that allows me to set a boost target, adjust a fuel or timing map, add a water/meth system, etc. Not get a "hot map" or a "race map+" or a "low torque map." I want to have control over what I'm doing to my car. My issue with the JB3 is I think it's dangerous to not control timing and I haven't been convinced it does. I didn't really realize there was a mystery. Sorry about that. |

I tend to agree. I was holding out for the CPE Piggyback, but after 4 months of waiting I gave up on it. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...ight=piggyback Either way, I'll take anything he says with a grain of salt. There's no way he's completely unbiased when his business depends on selling a competitors products. The guys from CP-E seemed pretty decent to me. Someone should point them to this thread and let them know they've been involved in it. If I were running a performance parts company I wouldn't want one of my representatives involved in a thread about a competitor's products, especially not one with the tone this one has taken. |

I'm tired of reading all these posts that are 90% ranting, 10% information. I meant the mystery of who you are.... and thanks for clearing that up. |

And.. it's not too cool to air private things in public. Thank you. As for the rest of vendors and resellers, please adhere to the stickied post on the top of Commercial forum. Quite a few infractions and bans have been given out in the past for non-compliance. Quote:

That sounds just like BMW a few years ago confidently saying they will never use turbocharging in the M division...

seriously, this has been addressed several times, and YES, JB3 does control timing. Just because they don't disclose how they do it, or you and scalbert and Shiv and whoever else haven't figured out how they do it, doesn't mean they don't. Proof is in the pudding.

strawman's argument my friend....you are the one saying that he doesn't control, and yet BMS says they do but are not disclosing it.

laloosh, its a conspiracy man...
I know its relatively new motor to the tuning world, and the only engine I've heard have catastrophic failure thats even remotely related to a tune, was a shiv tune... and honestly I really dont think it was his tune. ECU's may not do it aggressively, but stock ecus will correct for bad gas etc, so whats to say thats a stupid way of doing it. I mean would you really rather have something on a very fixed static tune, and that bad tank of gas grenades your motor? There is nothing wrong with Terry not wanting to disclose trade secrets, so get off the high horse... if you dont want it, dont buy it. |
