Took the car to the dyno to see how much mods actually do for an N51. Got around 210whp and 195wtq out of it. Was hoping for a little more, but saw some comparative runs from a stock 328 and a race-prepped 128 on the same dyno and it seemed reasonable.

That is really sexy. Any idea if it would work with paddles? Was the install easy? I really want a thick flat bottom wheel with some alcantara on it. Carbon is nice too.
Install was quick and smooth! Dm projectcarbon.uk on Instagram he can get you
more info on paddles.

'06 330i with intake & exhaust mods (online, not mine) pulled 224hp at the wheels. People thought it might be kinda high. So I think you're right on target.
I wanted a 130i after an international trip when they just came out. Never came to the states, so I "settled" for a 135 when the wife pushed me to go 'vert. But I'd love a 260hp N/A coupe. Enjoy!

They're just H8 bulbs. Get whatever you want.

Got my quote for full carbon dash from NRW. Now to source a good nav dash to send to them so they can get started. Super excited to see this come together as I've been wanting something extreme like that for a while. I'll send them my door panels after to be done in full carbon and alcantara as well

Progress. Had to source a new T40 after I broke one, and a T60 for the F82M4 hub bolts.

Interestingly, while the NonM ECS 2 PC rotors were heavier than their racingbrake counterparts, the E46M3CSL BBK 2 PC rotors from ECS were actually lighter than my small RB rotors! Mostly this conversion ended up being a wash in weight. I'll detail it in my build thread for you guys.

Here's a couple quick pics. Not finished yet.

Indeed. Closest I’m gonna get for a while, until average temps are up another 10deg or so.

Took the car out of storage, drove it about a mile or two to put some gas in it. It's getting picked up tomorrow to get the water pump and thermostat swapped for units from FCPEURO. Later this week I'll be doing the PE mod to my stock muffler.

That looks great. Are you going to spray it with a high temp clear or do you think it will resist corrosion?

Cool! Can you talk a bit about the wheel and tire sizes you're going with?

Thanks!!! I doubt it will resist corrosion as I'm pretty sure they're made from 304 S/S which can also get "tea" stained just from getting/staying wet.

Enkei NT03rr in 17x8 ET45 and 17x9 et50. I expect to run a 5mm spacer up front for clearance of the BMWPerf calipers that will be going on soon.

Tires are Firestone Indy500 225/45 and 255/40

I don't like the height adjustment. We don't have a tone of room to go down like that, the balljoints are in the way. I like the thread into a sleeve design better.
But really once you have a ride height you never really touch it.

And not much preload adjustment and the spring diameter is going to limit tire width.

With the M4 knuckle there's more room for the damper sleeve to move. Absolutely no problems there. I adjusted it all the way up and down this afternoon. Plenty of space.

My YCW dampers had the sleeve design, and had very little height adjustment, the sleeve is actually taller believe it or not. Certainly easier to adjust though, the way Ohlins did it is a total PITA.

These are actually linear beehive springs, which sit higher than 2.5" ID race springs, this increasing tire room. Since there's separate ride height adjustment there's very little reason to touch spring preload. Y'know?

Anyway...

Finished the passenger side and started work on the driver side today.

And... My caliper finish is looking BAD. 110k of rock chips. Considering sanding them down a bit and spraying with VHT high temp Burnt Copper. Thoughts from the gallery?

I'll have to read up on this M4 knuckle, later.

I just noticed this too, what gives with your fender liners?
Where did you get the center piece from? the one which covers the the 3 holes in the strut tower.

I've seen this color or something close to it recently. Looked ok with the silver rims but it would look way better with black or gunmetal wheels
