Installed E92 gauge cluster...
Next on list:

Install performance rotors(weekend)...
Figure out a better location for boost solenoids(inlets/outlets currently obstructing stock location)

Spent the morning changing transmission and diff oil. Both didn't look too bad for having 72k on them, but I still don't think I'd want to leave them in for the the lifetime of the car.

They're super light for their size, coming in at just over 17 pounds per wheel. These are flow formed, not forged like the TA16's.

Just need to order tires for them now. Clearance to the strut tube is tight, but I think it'll work as long as the tire is relatively square. My main concern is the spring perch, so I may be forced to do camber plates (oh no, how tragic) that'll let me shift the spring upwards.
Hey chris_flies any issues w using these TA5R wheels? I’ve been looking at them but doubted fitment due to the 38 offset. We have the same suspension setup and wanted to know if you were able to clear the Öhlins struts and F30 calipers. Some side profile pics would be good too!

They fit perfect. I'm at about stock ride height and have no issues, also had a little fender roll done in the rear previously. Tons of room for the brakes. I have 245/40-17 RE-71R's on it, and the clearance to the spring perch is extremely tight (I used a piece of mulch to make sure there was clearance, and it did make it through...barely) I think a different spring perch (or just camber plates) would be required to get more tire on them. Once I can do that, I'll step up to 255's and then reassess to see if 265's would work.

Ah that was my fear w the strut clearance being so tight. But it could be your 245s. Looks good brother! I have camber plates and the M control arms, so that might help with clearance. Thanks for the insight my friend. Still in the hunt for a good and affordable 17in wheel.

Stay safe. Cheers!

Here's another pic showing the brake clearance better.

Purchased from a seller on eBay...
We worked out a deal away from eBay...
The cluster obviously had to be modified to fit...
The seller and I communicated through the entire process...
Virginized, shipped, done!

Ordered new custom wheels from a company my friend helped start up. They'll take 4-5 weeks to be done and get to me. Doing brushed faces, polished lips, black hardware and black inlays inside the brushed center caps.

Spent the day swapping f30 brakes on the front. Gonna try to make some time this week to address the rear brakes and some other stuff.

In a couple months I will have had my 128i for 8 years. Hopefully I can get another 8 out of it! And then another 8 after that, and so on and so forth!

Just to set the stage, because everyone's climate is different, the car sat in the direct sun for about 7 hours after application of the Rejuvenator oil.

The oil went on sloppy. Its very easy to get it all over additional trim work especially if youre applying by hand. It has a pleasant smell and feels like a thin honey.

After the "bake" time and before cleaning, all surfaces were TACKY AS HELL. I didn't see significant material being pulled out of the leather but it def looks a shade darker than before. The removal took about twice as long as the application as the stuff needs some elbow grease to pull it off. The microfiber towels used were pretty gross after and felt extra heavy for some reason, more than just a damp microfiber but I couldn't tell exactly why. After using the Cleaning spray, the surfaces still have a bit of a tack to them, very different than all the other leather cleaning products i've tried. The most important part for me though is the leather softness/suppleness. It made a HUGE difference! I had a few "creases" or deformed sections in various parts of the seat bottom that seem to have essentially evened out. I have let the car sit in the sun many times before without change to the seats so I have to believe its mostly due to the oil. I have read that it gets better and better as it continues to condition the seats so we will see!

The darker color still remains and I parked the car for direct sun again today so I will see if the feel/texture changes further. So far, so good!
