Yup, the N54 takes to power modding about as well as anything on the market right now. As long as you don't spin the guts out of the turbos at high revs and have the proper supporting mods, it can deliver 380+ whp reliably for years. It's a bit of a primadonna engine in terms of peripheral problems, but the block is pretty bulletproof. Don't see many of these things coming apart, and when it does happen it's either a 1 in 1 million type thing, or the motor was being pushed extremely hard.

Yea, I meant tuning was. The amount of data you are given is astonishing. but its the way all these newer engines are being run. Being able to see how much knock you are getting on a certain cylinder is amazing. Im still tuning with my ear lol i would love to get my hands one of these for a weekend

insufficient air flow through the IC. Out side the limits of the turbo. When you go outside the chart you loose efficiencies and cause it to output more heat then normal. But as said above how much boost are you running? restrictive hot and cold pipes are normally a last resort.

My boost peaks at 18psi at 4300-4500rpm and tapers down to 12psi at 7k. I know 18 psi is about the limit for our tiny turbos.. Called the shop inquired about their air flow rating and the fan simulates up to 80mph airflow. The car went up to 132mph in 4th gear.
The second factor in all this is I was running ACN91 vs recommended 93. Works fine for my normal shenanigans on the street but, on a balls out dyno run may not be cutting it. So, will ahead and mix a little race gas to get my octane up and also up E85% for next dyno run.

I dont think 91 vs 93 with a 30% e85 blend is the problem. I would be more concerned with the actual ethanol % of the e85 over your 91 vs 93 octane.

How does my giraffe look here? Timing corrections in cyls 2+3 in low rpm high load doesnt bother me. I could feel the boost jumping around a little bit not awful.
Thoughts?

Guys can somebody help me?
1. How to correctly log I did a run today. So when I hit the accel then I pressed button to start log when my rpm's hit 6500 I pressed the button again to stop logging but when I connected app to pc I see in log file just from 750-950 rpm. What I did wrong? 2. When I try to measure my 0-60 time it always shows at the end 0-60 time "-" and everywhere where has to be numbers I see just this sign --> "-" The only time when it works if I am going slow to 60 mph. WTF? |

[QUOTE=b1aze;13557500]I found the instructions quite confusing myself. When i start a log, i will go to the log option, the warning screen comes up and asks you to press OK. I assumed that after that screen, it would start logging. It doesnt. You have to then go into one of the parameters, doesnt matter which, on the next screen and press the OK button again. It will say "not logging" before you press OK and then "initializing" then "logging" after. This will start a new log file. Press OK again to finish the log.
Thank you sir really was trying few times with no luck thanks again |

I see Cobb stage 2 maps are out.
But I can't find any stage 2 dyno curves on their site for the n55. I am running stage 1 aggressive + FMIC, and really enjoying the tune. I will now be installing stage 2 next week after I install the DP, and I guess a dyno run is in my future. Last edited by Suds; 02-28-2013 at 10:44 PM.. |

I'm interested to see how, if at all, the mapping changes on the N55. On N54s at least, Stg1+ is stronger and more aggressive than "normal" Stg2. I really liked the Stg1+ maps a lot, they're quite punchy.

Almost a bit too much IMO. I feel like power comes on a bit strong at light throttle for my taste on Stg1+FMIC Aggressive LT. I may switch to the non-aggressive map for Stg1+fmic and see how it feels, but i do love the WOT power that comes with the aggressive.

The linear throttle mapping never did it for me, but that’s because this is my first FI car and I still love the feeling of getting on boost. But yea, Stg1+ maps are legit; I never understood why Cobb users who weren’t going FBO went with downpipes before intercoolers. You’re using weaker maps+the hassle of being catless+heatsoak for days.

What is the bottleneck? Cats? Or is it something we can easily free up with mids or axle back without dealing with catless DPs?
