It is/was (in Auto).I confirmed the setting was changed as well in the trc file. No dice. No adaptive errors either. That AWLR_enable setting doesn't have anything to do with it does it Joe |

No problem, was just curious (as I had read the whole thread too). Setting didn't change anything on mine sadly...at least at the moment.
Read somewhere that some claimed it took a few days for it to kick in. Can't imagine why, coding seems instantaneous. Joe |

I had the same problem. I have a US 2008 135i and the setting had no impact. What model year is your car?
EDIT: I see you have a 2008 from your profile. I'm getting the feeling that our FRM modules are different enough that the coding isn't the only thing we have to do, or possibly it doesn't do anything at all. |

I guess it could also be that both of your car's are 2008 models. But as far as I know(from coding friends) that this "coding" works on all 1er's. Dack

Okay,
Now that I pulled my TRC file from the FRM (I have FRM3. Used to have FRM2 and it went bad) and can confirm that the only thing you have to do to enable the AHL2 EU headlight coding is to set the AHL2_ENABLE form nicht aktiv TO aktiv You do not have to change anything else. I made that mistake as I was sort of confused to how the lights would behave. For the Right Hand Traffic, you need to leave it on AKTIV and the Left Hand Traffic on NICHT AKTIV. All that does is tell the system on what side of the road you are driving on. If you want to set the Brake Force Display for your taillights and 3rd brake light, you will need to do it with NCS Dummy because you have to add coding to a couple of the settings and that you will not be able to set it with the Carly App. Hope that helps.

Same here unfortunately...a bummer too. It sounded cool. I am indeed a 2008 model. Headlights are working perfectly otherwise.

Anyone have a issue the AHL2 will not action when fog lights on? For example, when I turn on fog light. The driver side projector all the way to the left without turning straight as long as speed up.
Thanks |

Here is an odd behavior for ya ...
I did the 'lego mod' to the switch while back, have not got the front fog light button to do anything, rear works fine. I have AHL2 coded and working fine. But I noticed that when I turn the front fog light on the lights move/twitch. Anyone else notice this? |

First thing is I would check for codes. Sounds like a HID ballast going out. But that's just a guess. You should read the footwell module and check for codes. Dackel

You have a 335i with fog lights? You are talking about the fog lights and NOT the corning light(inside, center of the headlight housing) correct ? You watch my AHL2 video on page one of this thread right ? Quote:
My high beams work manually only. But this AHL2 programming works fine on my car. I get a wide spread at low speeds and a parallel at higher speeds. The AHL2 coding also increases the high beam brightness to EU standards for the US DOT has a lower high beam out put for US spec cars. I really like my AHL2 coding. Dackel

US car do have their high beam light output cut down some due to DOT laws. This coding increases the high beam light output as well. I do know that not every BMW coder can do this mod. It took some doing on my coder's part to make this work. And a few friend's who are coders still don't know how it was done. Dack

Mine is a US spec 2008. I tried the simple coding (AHL2_ENABLE if I recall correctly) and it also didn't work. The angle never changed. I have FRM2. My sense is there is more to it than just the simple enabling.
