ED prices are 93% of U.S. delivery (for the 3er) so, $25135 ED invoice, $27320 ED MSRP for the 128 and $30525 ED invoice, $33180 ED MSRP for the 135. fyi - I just did a quick check on the 5er and they use the same percentages there, so maybe the odds are good they'll do the same for the 1er. |

Extremely dissapointing pricing. I had hope after last months Motortrend article. Oh well.
You brand snobs need to get a clue. A bmw pinwheel on the hood isnt worth a dime. A car is a car. I want a fast, good looking rwd coupe. Since the 1 is so overpriced, I will be taking a hard look at the new Hyundai "genesis" or whatever they will call it. 10/100 will be nice too. The domestics have been showing a lot of promise lately too. |

I have the same problem. By the time I build the Cayman S I would have to get, I start questioning the value of what I'm getting for my money.

The step (auto) will probably be around $1375 with the paddle shifters.

At 35,600, the 135i is riding that borderline of reasonable and overpriced. It's not ridiculous but close enough that the 135i at least does not make my heart beat faster. Consider that BMW charges 450 for metallic paint, a Sport Package is probably going to cost a little more than 1,000 (call it 1,250), and you are already looking at a 37,000 dollar car before taxes and miscellaneous charges. If your only determination is straight line speed, the 135i should satisfy. But the N54 isnt going to be enough for me (and most, I reckon) to go running to BMW with the check book. Here's to waiting for a hopefully cheaper tii. :drinking:

Frankly a lot of cars seem overpriced these days (Honda's, Toyota's, Nissan's, and Hyundai's can all be priced in the 30Ks), but when compared to prices 20 years ago they are relative bargains. If enough people pass on the 1er then maybe BMW will have to rethink their marketing strategy. But that's really the point; they have a strategy while alot of the posters here seem to have relied on wishfull thinking. If the 1er is not a good deal, feel free to buy something else. That's what I plan to do, but I really need a test drive first. YMMV. |

According to Scott and a member (forget the name) that talked to a UK BMW dealer, the tii will be cheaper

You get a REAL sports car that drives like one, isn't overweight, and was built from the beginning as a sports car, instead of an overweight, overpriced, hopped up economy car with lots of HP.

Depends upon how you define better. It will have a four-cylinder engine as opposed to the N54, at least according to these reports. So if you mean "better" in terms of speed, the answer is no.
