Any tips for applying touch up paint?
After my last wash I noticed a small chip in the paint on the driver door at a very odd location. I have no idea how it got there. The rest of the car is perfect (clear bra). I have never applied touch up paint. I already have the BSM touch up paint, just want to make sure I do it right to look as good as possible. Thanks. |

I love the spirited drive of my CPO 2008 128i but My wife cannot ride with me because of the scent in the car. The smell does not appear to be coming from the ventilation system, but neither can I place it on anything in particular within the cabin.
I am at the point that I want to clean and condition the Boston Leather, carpet and dash with products that will remove any scent causing compounds and protect the surfaces without adding odors. Any suggestions DetailersDomain? |

anvil,
have you changed the cabin filters etc. have you checked under the seats? under the floor mats? i believe a good cleaning should definitely help the situation. 1Z einszett cockpit or if you think you need something stronger 1Z deep cleaner on the vinyl and plastics. on the leather maybe the leather master kit. on the carpets you might want to do Sonax Upholstery Carpet Cleaner for the HVAC you can also use the 1z einszett Klima Cleaner if all that doesn't work you may need to find a detailer with an ozone machine. this service I believe depending on where you are can be $50 - $200. |

Phil,
Thank you your reply to the odor issue Yes I have checked the cabin air filter, under the seats and under the floor mats. I have just odered some products that I will use this weekend. I will be needing to place an order later in the summer for polishing compound and pads and will try the interior products that you advised if I do not have success this weekend. I have had bad experiences in the past with HVAC sprays. One time the perfume of the spray persisted for a month even when I drove a substantial amount of that time with the fane blowing and the windows open. Does the 1ZEinszett klima cleaner actually kill the molds in the HVAC and then dissipate after just a short period of time? Thank you for your consideration of this question. Anvil |

I am looking for a car cover in san diego. I only plan on applying it after I wash, or after a quick detail (meguiars quick detailer spray).
Do you reccomend one of the more expensive covers? I don't want it to scratch! Thanks, Evan

Will the covered car be covered inside or outside? In my experience I have found over time covers will put light marring on the car's surface. |

Phil - I have been thinking about buying a Porter Cable DA polisher. Only thing is I am wondering IF using it over here in Germany(230v) will work or not with a voltage transformer. Do you have any customers who use US power tools over here with a convertor? I am worried about the cycles(50 vs 60) more than the voltage.

Trying my luck here
My rims has lips which is polished anodized with clearcoat, I did not take a good care of them and now they have some kind of haze even it is completely clean, is there a product you recommend that may restore it other than re-polishing my lips? Thanks!

nope, only the front, the rears are pretty good.
I tried some regular paint polish because someone told me the lip got clear coat on it so I should treat it like regular paint? What's the difference between Adam's Polish 1 & 2? Is it a 2 step process? Which one should be use first? Thx.

The lips are polished anodized with clear coat.
So P21S finish restorer is what I should try first right?
