I looked at the U-Boat watches and the first one that leapt out at me was this:

...it's only $17,600...

I'll be in for a group buy if you are serious. I wouldn't mind another one as there is one that's caught my eye.

It is my birthday at the end of Jan so it's worth a shot.
Last time the wife bought me a $4.5k watch for my birthday and I never wore it so I don't like my chances.

arrgghh, why did I order yesterday!

Got a message that Uboat are closed till the 3/1 so it wont ship till after they start doing deliveries again.

Tried them on today - 50mm is friggen huge and 45mm is bigger than i expected, 43mm should be fine.

They do look so hot though - especially the carbon ones - love them !

Mate with an IWC I went with told me they are rubbish and worse than a tag - oh well - stuff the haters

He's just a snob mate. And not a very good one (kidding) I wouldn't worry about it Buy what you like, that's what it's all about.

A mate of mine and Kenny's has a number of high end watches. (His daily watch he wears mountain biking, road bike riding is a platinum Rolex Subby) and he loves them and has one himself. In fact when he saw it the first time after we went out for a pedal his exact words were "You've got a U-Boat? These are great. When did you get it?". He's also a big fan of Panerai, patek philippe and has a few IWC's (Big Pilot etc) as well

But yeah. 50mm is huge! After wearing my U-Boat it makes my Panerai seem small!

Ian I'll go with the following

1x Flightdeck CAB Y 50mm ETA7750 chronograph
http://www.signstimepieces.com/u-boa...how-model.html
and a 43mm for me this time.

Flightdeck CAB WH 1 43mm ETA7750 chronograph
http://www.signstimepieces.com/u-boa...ronograph.html

I am ready to place an order whenever you can get in contact with the guy and get pricing.

Cheers,
Ben

Just because something is 'worse' doesn't mean people won't buy them and enjoy them. Look at all the people with iPhones

That's it. The watch snobbery cycle goes like this:

First you only heard of Rolex and you think they are cool. Then you learn a bit more and start talking how Rolex is shit. Then you learn about more watches. Eventually you realise Rolex is a good watch brand. Then you move on to buying whatever YOU like. Fuck what anyone else tells you to like.

The reality is only other watch fans ever notice or give a shit. It's a middle class conceit.
