Good evening all and greetings from the uk.

Ive been a fellow n54 owner (400bhp lsd full bolt on and full birds B1 car) but recently moved back to an e46 m3

Ive come across this thread after purchasing a pair of e82 brembo 6 pots for my e46 and refurbing them. but when coming to fit them have no bolts to mount them to the carrier (this carrier is a custom made for E46 one that uses the existing E82 bolts). As mentioned earlier in this thread (which has been a great help) bmw wont supply them and they are a obscure bolt that all uk hardware suppliers cant get hold of.

Ive purchase a set of porsche boxster brembo bolts (same thread m12x1.5 pitch and length 72.2mm) which will be arriving tomorrow but im not very optimistic they will fit.

If they dont do you still have a set of bolts for sale and would you be prepared to ship to the uk.

I will post back up in the next few days to let you guys know if the porsche bolts fit as it may save you money as they are only 3$ each

Hi there all. Just to report back. My porsche bolts came today and they are a perfect fit. The only difference is they are threaded all the way to the head of the bolt.

Are those strech bolts like the bmw oem ones or solid like the brembo ones i got?

Hi there mate thanks for replying.

Glad I could be of service. The porsche bolts dont look like they are stretched so can be used again and again (uk definition of a stretch bolt is one with non equidistant threads that can only be used once. Like a head bolt. Sorry if this is incorrect).

They are also a torx head not like the bmw allen head

The porsche bolts came as set screws, not like the original bmw bolts. So they are threaded all the way to the head. But are the perfect size and thread. There is zero play in the caliper. I tried it on the original e82 brackets and my custom ones. So will be fine for use on a e82

Brakes have been mounted to my m3 for a week now with no issues.....and I beat up on it VERY hard. so all good so far.

They cost me £21 (30$) including over night delivery from a porsche dealer. If id have collected they would have been £3 ($4) each

If you need any more info please dont hesitate to post or pm mate. This thread was a godsend to me.

I didn't read this whole thread so maybe I missed it, but why has no one tried an M12x1.5x80 SHCS from McMaster-Carr? They are class 12.9 which should be 90-100 lb*ft torque.

After actually spending time to read through all 7 pages because i started feeling the bolt start to get really hard to back out.

I believe that the reason no one did 80 was because it would be too long and would hit the top caliper bracket bolt (someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong).

Yeah but you just need to cut 8-10 mm off of it. That's quite easy to do with a hack saw. Then file the threads down and chase the threads.

Yes it worked on me, I measured the length, pitch, and major diameter to make sure they are identical to the ones on my 135i caliper.

I confirmed they are IDENTICAL =)

Just want to give a shout out to the good people who found the corresponding MB part. Any final word on torque value? Maybe from the MB tech site?
