^ Looks good! how much of a drop was that setup?
uh..I'm a little worried now cause I'm about to install RennSport spacers on my 1er. 12mm front and 15mm rear.... do I need to have hub extenders? I'd thought I'd be ok with the extended lugs and the lip that's on the spacers but now I'm concerned :/

Finally had a nice day to wash it. It was UNHOLY the amount of dirt that came off. I had to dump my rinse bucket twice, each time it was black, and that was after cleaning the wheels first!
Turns out the car was actually a little brown. Glad to have restored it to some resemblance of shiny jet black. Can't wait to have some time to properly polish it down and wax in. Then the gnats descended on me and got all stuck to everything.

New belt, oil filter housing gasket and walnut blasting done for some preventative maintenance. Hoping to drive this for at least 3 more years!

Installed RennMotorsport spacers 12MM front and 15MM rear. Looks nice and flush, no rubbing with the factory monster truck ride height. Haven't noticed a significant change in handling and almost no reduction in body roll unfortunately
oh and after the install for some reason I got a red service error that is increasing negative miles (pulled CC-ID 71), and my handbrake light stays on now -_- (sorry for the crappy lit pics, first is a before last two is after)

Finally got my whiteline SFB inserts put in. What a difference!
Removes every bit of "floatiness". Even on the awful torn up Massachusetts winter roads.

Waiting for my car to get towed to the dealership... Looks like the battery is dead... After a mere 2-1/2 years.

At least you'll be covered under warranty.

The Service Advisor did leave me a message late in the day: Something about the battery NOT being covered by the warranty because "I didn't drive the car enough to keep the battery charged." Damn.

Installed my VRSF CP and Tial BOV a couple weeks ago but noticed some flutter and what almost sounded like a two stage vent in higher RPMs.. I read up on Tial springs and found that the 11psi spring might be too stiff for some cars, so I swapped the 10psi spring into it today and it solved all of my issues! Car is running great now.
Next up, downpipes or intercooler... The mod bug has definitely bitten. |

Seriously. That's crazy, post everything you know about this when you know it. I'd be especially curious as to what "enough" is (hard data).

Nope... I've only logged about 12.5K miles.

Freaking highway robbery. When I pick up the car tomorrow, I'm going to ask them where in the warranty book does it mention the lack of mileage voids the warranty of the battery... And if I don't get satisfaction, I'm going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and/or Consumer Affairs.

Which dealer is this by the way? South Bay BMW?
I swear, at Pacific BMW they were starting in on this with me, trying to say I don't drive enough and that I should get a battery tender. That guy was saying you have to drive your car 20 miles a day. Pff. The batteries in these cars should last a hell of a lot longer than they do and absolute highway robbery too that they then need to be "registered" and "coded." For them to not cover it under warranty is BS. |

The Service Advisor said I needed to log about 1000 miles/month to keep the battery fully charged... Total rubbish. Quote:
I had a E36 for 18 years and I only changed the battery ONCE... And only because I thought the battery was getting old after 9 years.
