Dorks aren’t into tools. Lol I spent Dec, Jan and Feb collecting car bits and pieces along with tools - ready for spring install. I stopped summing the receipts after a while |

Little Red has new wheels and tires - PS4s on Apex ARC-8, 17x8.5 in Hyper Black. Little problem with the TPMS sensors - may have the wrong model, the one for 2011s built from 9/2010 to 2013. Mine was built 6/2010. Headed out on a Spring Break road trip in a few days so will just have to run with the "TPMS Inactive" glaring at me for a while.
Went out for a back roads drive this afternoon and with the Bilstein B12 set, the M2 sway bar, and the sticky new tires, it is a different car than I brought home a few months ago. Looking forward to hitting some mountain roads.

Not me but gf
Got our first self inflicted love marks today T_T Was coming back from getting food and parking when we're parking in the spot we normally do, and she didn't set the car up right. I said that's fine, just pull forward and retry. she decided just to go forward to another spot and back in. proceeds to back in, and bonk right into the concrete supports. She's a good driver. This isn't something I'd expect but these things just happen. Just sucks that it had to happen right when we got food, spoiling the night. Keep in mind this is also her car, I just do the work on it lol View post on imgur.com We literally just talked about getting the car paint corrected and ceramic coated this morning. Imagine spending that money just for this to happen. Yikes! Tomorrow I plan on getting the car on jacks and inspecting oil pan gasket. I've known it's been leaking but it seems to be increasing it's speed as of late wish me luck

I test fitted my new roof racks. Next weekend I am going down to the central north coast with friends for a fishing/camping holiday. These will be perfect for my fishing rods and anything else that is too long or awkward to fit in the piddly little boot.

Today's project was changing out the engine ground strap. I noticed how corroded and frayed it was while installing the new belly pan a few days ago. So it's good to go for another 11 years.
The old one definitely has seen better days:

Turns out, you can just buy the knob for the LCI headlight switch. Really ties the interior together.
Also, it turns out that putting the whole switch box back in place is a pain in the ass.

Had my factory 261M wheels refinished in BMW hyper silver powder coat + powder clear.
New oem centre caps, valve stem caps and little M stickers. New Michelin PS4S in 255/35 and 225/40. Also ceramic coated... Also just had a new windshield installed at the dealer. Getting the car back to showroom condition! |

The seals are definitely affordable, but not exactly sure what to expect when replacing. |

Ordered a set of Bilstein B14s for $1,000CAD tax and shipped. Excited is an understatement, it's needed. Guess I'm buying new rear tires as well.. looked at mine today and the center patch is nearly a drag radial.. I have 245/35r18 and want to go up to 255/35r18 at the very least.

Would say that the 255 is about as wide as you'd want to go lowered, without the need to roll fenders, etc. 265/35 may be problematic on factory wheels with a dropped ride height. Still don't understand why factory is 215/245 - oddball, slightly undersized for 7.5/8.5" wide wheels. That said, anyone want to buy a pair of 215/40R18 Michelin Pilot Super Sports? Rears were shot but fronts are good. |

Got a recall letter for the PCV heater that exactly described some issues I've been having recently. However, they "are not able to perform a remedy at this time". Loaner here I come, baby.

Yep, got my letters today for both the E82 and the E91. Fortunately, I have not noticed any issues with either car but will have the recall work done when it is offered.

Fornt and rear rotors and pads. Front rotors are 2-piece, everything else stock replacements. Even went with stock pads. It gets -20F here sometimes and if the roads are free of snow and salt I will sometimes drive it. Seemed they'd be the best at actually working in those temperatures. It'd be different if I tracked the car.
While I was at it I cleaned the heck out of everything in the vicinity. Hubs are shiny again, dust shields got a little black spray paint, the rotor hats are painted, scrubbed the calipers clean and saw the gray paint for the first time in a long time. Up next is swapping the wheels over to the summer set and bleeding the brakes while I'm at each corner. But since we'll see below freezing again for the next few nights I'll be holding off on that. Summer tires (Indy's) do not like being cold, no traction at all. |
