I wanted to thank P1et for the great find. I've been trying to change those yellow bulbs for the angel eyes since the first day I got the car.

I guess I got the last piece of the PIAA Precious White bulbs yesterday of eBay, can't wait till I get my hands on them and change em yellow bulbs.

Thanks again P1et, and the rest of the forum. Got tons of information since I joined.
My pleasure. It's interesting how everything goes back full circle. We started with angel eyes and trying to find a good halogen bulb, then moved away from that and tried out the LED bulbs, and now we're here again with a good H8 halogen bulb. Definitely post some pics once the PIAAs are installed.

I say these are very similar in look as the PIAAs. Or at least, from what I can tell by your pictures and comparing that to my wife's 135i.

I looked on your site but could not find the 5000K bulbs. Am I missing them? Perhaps post a direct link to them?

Quick dumb question I just got my bulbs is there a DIY on this? I've never done anything on my car beside changing the kidney grills.

I've tried searching but nothing came up.

I installed the piaa today and first impressions are better than stock but the outer ring is still abit yellow. Overall pretty good for quick plug and play bulbs.

Ps
my hands are still red and that stupid cover

Make sure the bulbs are in there correctly. If they are not installed right, it will affect the way the rings are lit up.

I did mine today. I struggled a lot with the passenger side that cover is really a PITA. It took me so long that I had a friend do it for me because I got so frustrated with it and left it.

It seems that I have to redo the drivers side again because the passenger sides inner ring is brighter than the other one. I didn't notice it until closing everything up and moving the car into a darker spot from where I was working.

After the struggle with the passenger side I gave up and I'll redo it tmw. But yes the inner ring is WHITER than the outer one from some reason on both sides. Yet I'm loving em.

update

pulled the car out of the garage this morning, the weather here is over-casted this morning and they look alot whiter than the garage

still abit yellow on the outer ring but huge difference over the OEM colour

overall i would recommend doing this, way easier and cheaper than buying LUX

The outer ring will always look dimmer since the light is just refracted from the bulb within the inner ring.

Installed the bulbs and was wondering what would be the result if I upgraded the xenon bulbs as well. Brighter? Anyone try upgrading both?

Yeah, it's a cell phone camera and the white balance isn't entirely correct.

There is a huge thread on a 7-series forum where I learned a lot. Very technical people using all bulbs known to man. They tested HID kits also and the result is a blinding effect. In other words: the inner halo is so bright that it disappears to the human eye. It looks silly. The dangerous part is the heat: they run entirely too hot and would cause damage in a heartbeat. There is a reason we need to stick with 35W bulbs.
