They would have to do a LOT of redesigning just for a quad to be true like the one above.

Uhm no. The photographer who took this is a long time acquaintance. This went straight from his camera to us.

Why is that typical?
E36 - 1995-1999 - 5 years E36/7/8 - 1998-2002 - 5 years for the roadster, 4 for the coupe E39 - 2000-2003 - 4 years E46 - 2001-2007 - 7 years E86 - 2006-2008 - 3 years E60 - 2006 - 2010 - 5 years I'd say that since it should be much lower volume than the M3, it will probably more closely reflect either run of M Coupe and be around 3 or 4 years, probably selling until the new 1er coupe begins production. Sorry, those are US production dates, I'm sure they're slightly different for other markets. |

This isn't a typical scenario - the current chassis is on its death bed. The next generation (F20) 1 series is due to be coming out next year. Typically, BMW releases coupes up to a year after the sedans. The M's slightly after that. So, we're looking at what is likely a 2-year run before a short hiatus followed by an M version of the F20 (if there is going to be one). It will not be produced more than a couple of months past the introduction of the next 1 coupe - if that.

God dammit guys,
use your heads, this is definitely gonna be the new ///M Coupe. It makes perfect sense, as the old ///M Coupe (Z4M) is no longer in production and instead a Z5 3.5is. The new ///M Coupe and hopefully ///M Roadster will be based off the current 1 series. Expect more hp, more torque, more muscular styling, an ///M limited slip diff, ///M Suspension, and bigger brakes. Oh wait, all of that has been discovered to be on these test mules.
