Yea those look nice - looks like the new sport edition model. My sport editions look extremely and utterly blah, which is okay for winter rims, but I do get quite sick of looking at them. Mine will be going on sometime around turkey day.

Ideally I'd get a set of stock 135i wheels and put winters on them, but I sank too much $ into this new set from tire rack last winter, and I don't feel like going through the trouble of selling them.

You will be fine and you'll quickly notice that in the deep stuff, it's better to turn DSC off to get through.

New England winters in my E30 was how I learned to drive. Go to an empty parking lot with lots of extra space, mess around a bit and learn where you lose grip, and then get ready to have LOTS of fun.

+1 Seriously, this is a must. I learned this in snow with my MINI the first time. DSC kept intervening and it quickly occurred to me to turn off that DSC and then the car just motored through wonderfully.

They are the new Sport Edition A8. At $106 each, I went with them to reduce the cost, and they are one of the few inexpensive wheels that accept the BMW center caps. They were not my first choice, but I'm reasonably happy with the result.

Just to verify, you fitted the OEM set that supposedly doesn't fit cars with the aero kit? I need these... I'm kicking up a ton of dirt and debris.

Will try to work the exhaust tips this weekend. I've got a sponge w/mesh for bug removal for the front end, I should probably get a second one for the undersides and exhaust.

I will definitely take some photos once the winter wheels are installed. May have mud flaps installed by that time, if I decide to go that way. 2002 tii's car looks great with them... I'm thinking that the black accent effect will look good on MG as well.

It's not just east coasters! I'm planning on putting my winters on near the end of November or early December. I'll post some pix when I do.

Waiting for Me After Work

Just so IEDEI doesn't have all the fun, here are my shots of my baby waiting for me as I fled work today and both figuratively and literally rode off into the sunset.

I'm not hogging 2 spots! I'm in the last spot and then there's a really wide aisle, so I park a hair over the line (like 4-6 inches) and still plenty of room for anyone to get by on my right. Also, there isn't a car parked within 10-15 cars of me.

I'm definitely not one of those people and what's funny is my dad's overpriced new 550 SL got completely keyed the other day and I felt bad for him for a minute until he said he parked away from everyone and then in the middle of two spots! I said, then you are begging for someone to do that and hope you learned your lesson.

I definitely drive around looking for the low-risk parking spots, but I make sure I stay in the lines so as not to have someone harm the thing.

I'm dying to have the time and extra money to put the BMW Performance suspension on the car, but it's going to have to wait until next year. Our cars just need to settle down a little. Even my Passat wagon didn't have as much all-around wheel gap as we do .

That's funny, someone asked me the other day if mine was lowered. Um, no.

You figure out how much that performance suspension + install is going to be? Is it worth it?

I think they look perfect just the way they are, the way god made them...or at least the Leipzig plant.

I definitely think it could benefit from slight lowering from an aesthetic standpoint. One day.

That's every day in LA it seems. =P

What's funny is I sent one of those pictures to a friend of mine at work and her response was, "what do you do, take a picture of your car every single day?" Hahaha, noooooo, but sometimes when you're walking back to your car at the end of the day you can't help it, right? I'm sure you can relate now.

i've been taking photos of my cars for the past 12 years. it's like an addiction. i think the TT is the most photographed car i've ever owned as it is the most visually striking. my last A3 was boring as hell to look at and i still took tons of photos!! LOL. i do take a lot of 135is photos....as it is a very strange and interesting design. it seems to look different every day.....like it is morphing!

Well, I will make sure to show this admission to people I know so they don't think I'm so bad. And I think we'll have to bury you with that TT. Or in it. Don't worry, I'll take a good picture for you.

Needless to say I love the looks of the IS, and I really take it personally when people rag on the looks, saying it's ugly, or has a hideous rear end. I guess there's no accounting for taste. The car does look very different from various angles and I'm sure the metallic paint also helps as the color seems to vary by about 5 shades. There are days and pictures in bright light where you would swear the mineral grey is space gray and probably think your deep sea blue is lemans. Then other times it looks so unbelievably dark, people may think you have carbon black. I think they're perty and I really don't like the design of the M235.

i love the looks of the E82 as well. i think there is a lot of subtle 'art' going on in the quirky curves and bulges....a lot of creativity, but not over the top. I do think it is a polarizing design as people seem to either love it or hate it.....which is a good thing IMO!!!

I just never get why it's so polarizing, that's what always shocks me. I don't care if others like how it looks, I only care what I think and what I like, but who knew these lil guys could evoke so much hatred. The 2-series I can see being polarizing. You think our back is ugly, go look at that! I mean, sure, it looks great if you love gigantic shiny gray rectangles. What's sad is if it had like a 1M style aggressive diffuser that had some shape and curves that followed the lines of the car, the back would look great. Then the only problem is the front, interior, electric steering and engine noise through the speakers. The gauges and instrument cluster are nice.

the majority of people like either 'safe' designs or blingy designs, IMO. the 2-series is a very 'safe' design.....mimicking the rest of the BMW range. the E82 really didn't copy any other BMWs in terms of its features or quirks. It was an original design.

The majority of 'hate' seems to come from 3-series drivers who are just jealous because they are driving around in bloated, slower cars that are basically a dime-a-dozen on any given road.

Is there a black 135is convertible in the Atlanta area? I think I saw one this weekend (or just a 135 with the 313 wheels). Either way, I love coming in here and seeing the pictures of everyone's cars.
