lol, the scary thing is that it may yet happen.

I did notice this on Ausmotive tonight about the TTRS S: "WAY: Hmm…ditch 1M for this?"

I should put my name down on the slops list for your VO 1M in case the second batch of 1Ms never arrives.

Confirming that there is no 1M at Melbourne Motor Show. In fact there is only 1 BMW there!

Matty, went and checked out the TTRS again. Too small at the back so 1M is safe lol.

Popped into Coastline BMW this morning and had a good look at the VO 1M being prepped out the back. They were doing a wheel alignment on it. Once i get the picture off my phone I may post it here. Tentatively (VERY tentative) put my name down for the 2012 allocation...

Nice Tim but you've almost got the full works going on with the suspension in your 135i. LSD, coilovers, M3 bits..

Yeah, I'm not likely to act on this whim Vinney, unless Sparoz decides he'd like to swap with me...
Love the more masculine 1M but also like how my 135 looks stock & unsuspecting. Following on from the Quaife & KW install a couple of weeks ago I got a four wheel alignment performed at "Accurate Suspension" on Wednesday. Then went for a run over the mountains north of Brisbane yesterday (Mulaney, Montville, Mapleton etc.) on my way to Caloundra. Feels sooo much better. Will be even better when I finally wear out the runflats and put some proper tyres on. Just over 20,000km over nearly three years so far...

True Jude. I could be driving even less now. After 10+ years at my old job I'm starting a new job in the city on Monday. Doubt I'll be driving to work. Parking's too expensive. Will ride in one of the bikes or take the train.

I agree the 1M is a lot more masculine looking and appealing but it is nice having a stealth ride as well. I think once you change the run craps you will have a setup comparable to a 1M anyway. I'd recommend going with a decent tyre like the PSS's and calling it a day. I bought a set and am yet to install them but the reviews are promising.

Pete has sent me a fully prep pic tonight like 8pm - it is on the floor now. Unfortunately, the ONE M plate is not going to be on the car till Monday.

I am taking my car in for trade tomorrow. Sounds like you know a few people there, they might be even happy for a swap with my non-RFT?

Congratulations on the 1M Sparoz.

Is a wheel alignment part of pre-delivery?

My dealer has just been allocated 3 more 1Ms so it looks as though the extra alotment for Australia may be true.

Made the not insignificant trip down to the mo show today from Cambra, wow BMW really went all out! One car in a closed in area, the, it will never happen, vision con thing. Merc, on the other hand had at least 500 cars there, Inc AMGs and a SLS.

Me thinks BMs strategy is internet post for marketing instead of showing the real deal at shows, at least in this country. REALLY disappointing, at least Porsche was there so I could ogle what my new car looks like before it arrives late next week.

And it's not even new - that car debuted at Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009! It is a pretty impressive looking thing in the flesh, but I agree, will never go to production in anything near that format.

Motorshows in this country are a joke, and are treated as such by the majority of, if not all, manufacturers. Treated by all and sundry as an off site car yard, they bear no resemblance to the "proper" motorshows of Europe. More's the pity.

They are supposed to. Someone in the PD road test really enjoyed themselves looks like, it's now at 12km . They only have to take it down for tinting now, and it's only 1km away from the dealership. Let's see how many kays the tint guys will do. Don't mind the mechanic having an extended test drive, but I will be pretty pissed off if the tinting company add more than 2kms.

Only my 2nd visit there Sparoz so don't know the staff. This visit just on a whim to see if your car was in Not a bad thought re the RFT swap. They probably want a set on to before resale. If you get a chance would you ask them if they're interested? My wheels are pretty much unmarked & scored 10/10 at the last club display.
I'm back in Brisbane now however. Start a new job tomorrow & then down to Melbourne for at least the rest of the week May have time to take in the Motor show though...

top gear mag has a another very good review in it about the M1. they mention there is only 100 and all are sold. its funny they say that but BMW are still spending shit loads on advertising it.

they also mention someone has bought 2! thats a 1 addict.

Don't forget he has (assuming it is a guy hahaha) put wider rims on too to accomodate. Maybe I should put my 20x10's (295x25x20) on the M1 for a couple of photos and a laugh hahahaha
