I contacted Josh at Cobb and this was his reply.
"I've learned that the oil temp monitor appears to be incorrect currently. I'm working on a fix for it, but right now it is broken. As for the req boost abs and boost mean abs, they will always read lower than they should. The DME logic does not store their values to a readable location until after several math algorithms are applied to them. They are still a good tuning tool as they are in the same scale and you can compare requested vs actual. If you want to know actual boost pressure, the Boost monitor is accurate." |

Hello all. I have a '11 N55 135 vert. I love this car, but I get 1 step ahead and take 2 steps back. I'm looking for some help. I just came from Cobb stage 1 sport ( nice little bump) to stage 2 + fmic aggressive ( what the hell happened??).
I never had any issues in stage 1 sport. But now that I went to stage 2 + aggressive, I get no power after 4k and it backfires like crazy. Instead of trouble shooting, etc.. I changed the map to stage 2 fmic sport. Then it ran much better... Until today, I'm getting new tires so I wanted to do a quick burnout of the old one (s). I turned of DSC completely and let her rip. At about 5 to 6k it started the same symptoms. Thought nothing of it. Did a 0-60 run later today and it's running like it was on stage 2 + aggressive. I'm really struggling to find a happy map here My bolt ons include aa 5 inch fmic, bmw intake and dp, etc cp, bmw pe catback. My V3 cobb has shown me having -6.9 timing correction in cylinders 4 and 6 and peak boost at 22.3. I have a very low tuning IQ, but something tells me it's not running right. Also, just replaced plugs. --also I use only 93 shell gas. Please help...anyone |

Took my car into the dealership for the latest software. Took it to Cobb Plano and still a no go on connecting with my car. Anything else I can do to try to get it to work? Anything new coming down for the pipeline for the 2012+ N55's?

I usually do a pretty extensive search on these forums before asking a question like this but I CBF reading through 89 pages of this thread so hoping someone can give me a quick answer...
If the 1M has High Flow Cats then can we run Stage 2 Maps? Has anyone done this? Good/Bad experiences? Thanks. |

I did a little logging this morning as input for my PTF eTune. The logs are below:
http://www.datazap.me/u/bbursey/logs...=0&data=4-5-14 It looks like I've got lots of timing correction going on - any suggestions? My mods are listed in my signature below. Thanks, Bryan

This is the Stage 1+ FMIC Sport V2.00. Maybe I'll try the Stage 1 Sport map to see if that makes a difference.
Cheers, Bryan

Also, the ECT gauge on the AP display seems to be reporting temps that match the temps on my dashboard oil gauge. which, in 30 degree temps and not driving hard at all should make sense? I think?

I couldn't find a recent answer as to whether this is available for non-US cars now. My brother has a Gulf Spec (Dubai) N54 135i and is in the market

Cobb, will you be releasing ethanol tunes for the N55 similar to what's available for the N54?

Sorry new to this group and my only experience with flashing a turbo car was with a VW GTI... I had maybe a dumb question about the Access Port. If you load a program to the ECU, can the Access port itself then be disconnected and you still retain the updated ECU setting? I am assuming this is the case but the product really seems to be targeted as some sort of in car digital readout? It does also perform a single instance Flash and then you are done right? Also is there a mode available for it that allows configuring BMW's USA/closed features like automatic window/top closure from the key fob or allowing DVD's to play while the car is moving? Basically will it allow similar access to what NCSexpert can perform?
Thanks much! |

New Cobb user here. Installed my Cobb V3 about 4 days ago. Went with Stage 1 sport and didn't feel any change so next day I went to Stage 1 aggressive. Car feels really good, runs smoother than before v3. The difference is noticeable but nothing crazy power comes on nicely through range. I'm completely stock (have cp but haven't installed yet). Is it common for the car to run smoother after flashing? Look forward to adding more mods and checking out other maps.

I have a 08 135 manual. I just bought and installed a cobb v3, 7" intercooler and a chargepipe. I installed the 1+ sport map. I live in northern ca so I am using ACN91. I noticed some timing getting pulled so I decided to raise my octane by mixing in 3.5gal of e85 (figure winter blend will be ~e72) and 10.5gal of ACN91 to see if timing corrections would go away. Did 6 logs in 3rd gear and The timing corrections are just about gone. My stft is 24-26 peak at 4k rpms tapering smoothly to 15 near redline. and one log showed 30 at 4500rpm but that one was in second gear. my question is at what point should I be worried about stft? And is there any other things I should be paying close attention to while using this e85 blend? Thank you.

while looking through ATR I came across something and was wondering if anyone else has seen it in their maps.
The "Torque Eff Divisor (Fuel)" table in the OTS stage1+ maps is set to 1.0 across most lambda values (see the table on the left). All the other OTS maps (Stage1, Stage2, Stage2+) taper the multiplier as lambda decreases (see the table on the right). This is true for the N55 98F0B firmware maps at least. Anyone know why this is set this way and how this value is applied in the logic of the DME? I had made another thread for this and then after the fact realized this is probably a better place for it. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1125056 |
