Nice review on the new Z4, comparing to the 135i.
Also, Tarmac magazine just published 135i as one of the top drives of 2010.

Clarkson - "Not everyone will have heard of The Road or its author. It’s a hidden jewel. It sits in the bookshops like the BMW 135i sits in the dealership: a genuine pearl, lost in a sea of razzmatazz and Day-Glo promises.
I like the BMW 135i very much. It has no styling and no big USP. It’s just some car. But it’s the most faithful BMW of them all. Simple. Six-cylinder engine up front. Rear drive. It’s built for the road. It is The Road." Let's face it, the man knows cars. We should make him an honorary 1 Addict.

WindingRoad Review - MY2010 135i
A favorable review of the 1-series from Winding Road. Some of the comments, of course, are of the 'papal infallibility' style: I don't like it therefore nobody should. Egos out of control, I'd say.

April 2011 Consumer Reports; consumerreports.org
Best & Worst: The BMW 135i scored a 97. Second only to the Lexus LS 460L. The Porsche 911 Carrera S scored a 96 and the Corvette Z06 scored a 92. The 135i was the top sports cars: high performance winner with the 97 rating.wrx sti was second with a 89. The 135i coupe also won the sports coupe "Most Fun" Driving enjoyment award. Only real negative was in reliability. Must be the old fuel pump trouble. |

I hope one of the major US magazines does a full comparison with the 135i and the 1M. I had a deposit for a 1M but with the old lease ending I bailed on it and got the 135i that I had also ordered. I agonized about holding off for the hot rod, but they both have the pluses and minuses. I am loving the 135i so no (few) regrets. GJ
