Okay, show me a BMW tuner that offers a chip that doesn't explicitly say the power increase and that doesn't actually give you that increase.

That's what your saying, right?

I have had the Upsolute chip for about 1 1/2 months. So far I have not noticed a huge difference in power, I can say my redline was moved up. Unfortunatly I dont remember what the car was like without the tune so I cant say for sure. At any rate though the mod yields small results in the really world/butt-dyno. I do hope that with the addition of an exhuast system the car will improve somemore.

I will state that with any chip I have bough for my cars I have never felt a huge advantage. I chipped both a mitsu Lancer 2.0l and an SRT-4. Neather from Upsolute, but still no large result.

I hope this help anyone thinking about the mod I will post again when I do buy the exhuast.

I will mention that Gary was helpful and the price was right. I just wish I could give a better review, but I just have not felt the difference.

Good luck.

If there is any car that should be able to see a huge dif, it's the 325i (3.0). Too bad.

Most chips are made to lean out the fuel to produce more power. If you dont have a lead foot, you almost always will see a increase in fuel economy.

Thumbs up Upsolute Chip retune

I've been talking with Sonny Lowe and he is receiving the Hardware and quotes a 24 hour turn around when he gets your hardware and $ 400.00 Basic Results are to be 20 HP and 20 Torque.

My last e-mail from Him and Rene was 3/26/06.

His e-mail is sonnylowe@upsolute.com

They also quoted a 30 day money back guarantee to out it back to stock.

On a turbo car, a chip will work wonders because you can manipulate the boost. In Upsolute's defense, a ton of Euro cars have turbos and I have read and heard good stuff about the company. But I'm not expecting much here. Have Dinan done anything with the N52 or even the E46 3 liter M54 lump with just a chip?? Not much if anything. All you can do is play with timing and fuel air mixtures.

Correct... The only way to get ANY more power out of a NA motor these days is to up revs. More revs equal more power. More revs can only be ENGINEERED by the manufacturer.

Just read the upsolute.ca website. They say they offer an E90 remap:

325i +16 hp +17 torque
330i +19 hp +18 torque

No dynos.

Anyone from Upsolute here can give us an update? We'd all love to see some impartial dynos and some more first hand opinions about the difference...

It seems like the 325 would gain much more hp with a chip because it is detuned in the computer by bmw.

At least the torque should be better. A 3.0 motor should easily develop more than 200ft/lbs of torque. That's what I find disappointing.

where is the progress from Dinan? there's a dinan dealer close to me and it would be nice to them take care of the performance mods. has anyone done any checking behind the scenes or maybe know someone who works for dinan who may have a date in mind for upcoming mods? thanks.....

Ditto.

Of course Dinan JUST came out with an e46 M3 supercharger -- 6 years after its debut.
