Given the position of the ship, do you still expect to get your car in July?

The car is supposed to arrive at the dealer mid June. However as the cash is tied up in a CD, won't be able to take delivery. until July Not to mention this is supposed to be a 50th birthday present for my July birthday!!

Well guys, you're getting close. A lot of us Week 16ers are taking delivery this weekend, or already have our cars.

I'm assuming you mean 100 nautical miles per day? 100mph is twice as fast as most speed boats.

And actually, based on it's position, the Falstaff seems to be going a little slow. The Green Dale, which left port less then 2 days ahead of the Falstaff is already near the Panama Canal. Unless the Falstaff had an extra stop that the Green Dale didn't, then it seems like the Falstaff should be further along then it is.

Do the other ships have multiple stops, or did I just (un)luck out with the Mignon? Stops after leaving Bremerhaven are:

Sweden
Belgium
UK
NY
Baltimore
Brunswick GA

They all have multiple stops before arriving on the East Coast. My trip (Liberty) included stops in Zeebrugge, Antwerp, and Southampton before arriving in NYC.

Falstaff closing in on the carribean....

Well the Falstaff is still cruising at about 100 nautical miles every 6 hours. closing in on the caribbean.

Still looking like she will arrive Panama Canal area on the 20th with passage on the morning of the 21st. Hope it is not too early morning. Sure would like to capture some pics of her going through the locks.

Man I thought you guys would be further along then this. According to the Bremerhaven schedule the Falstaff should have left port about a day behind the Green Dale. However it now appears that it's about 4 days behind. Maybe the Falstaff had an extra stop in Europe somewhere and that's what held it up. (looks like they're going about the same pace across the Atlantic)

The Falstaff made stops in both Zeebrugge and Southampton. Could be she had to pick up some Mini's!! (ok I am partial since I have a Mini Cooper S)!!

today she is getting close to Puerto Rico

Off topic but do you like the Cooper S? I was thinking about possibly getting a convertible one as a second car. They're actually fairly inexpensive. The only problem is the nearest Mini dealer to me is like 200 miles away.

Hi Dan
Love the Mini!! Had a 2003 cooper and now a 2005 cooper S. Great car, lots of fun. I drove the convertible and was considering it before the 1. The style is being changed for the 09 model on the convertible to look more like the 07 and 08 coupes. I think they will be better.

The Falstaff has made it past Puerto Rico and is full steam ahead for the Canal. Ok, don't really know if it is full steam ahead but picking up some speed anyway:smile:

Anybody have any information on the Phoenix Leader? It's an NYK Line ship that supposedly left Bremerhaven on 18 May 08 for the Left Coast. Can't find squat anywhere.

According to VessleTracker.com it's currently at another port in Germany just West of Bremerhaven. It must have had to make another stop for some other brand of German vehicle.

The picture I got from vesseltracker showed me a strange map that didn't make a lot of sense. It appeared to have an overland route and it was up near some northern european countries that didn't add up. I'll have to take a look again when I have time.

Thanks.
