Could possibly be shoe design? Either that or the dead pedal has lifted somewhat off of the carpet; catching on it would seem to imply that there's something to 'catch' on.

Might be a problem with BMW Performance RHD Dead pedal possibly or copies out there?
Pretty sure it was protruding over and my shoe got caught underneath the lip attempting to re-engage the clutch. |

Keen to see how 1M prices hold up. I wouldn't mind picking one up in say 6months with reasonable kms for like $60k ish.
Z4 M coupes have been up and down the last few years but now seem to be back down again with a few under $40k. That is a special car, last M car with an NA I6, CSL brakes ect they have held their value fairly well. I assume the 1M might follow a similar depreciation curve. I don't think they will appreciate, at least not in the near future.

Higher km examples are always going to fetch much lower prices, low km versions will always attract a premium.
A car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. One of my clients offered me 100k for my 1m but I said i'm not interested but if he finds a nice low km one I could help him build one. |

True but for an intended daily I think anything under 60,000kms would be ok for me and would be more than happy with that at $60k. A super low km example wouldn't interest me because I wouldn't see the value for my intended use. A collector obviously might.
Actually a few on carsales now which would suit me. See how things look in 6 months.

THere was a JB4 + some other bolt on 12k km AW listed at 69000, also sold quite fast. Both were MY12, built 2012. That Kirribilli one has not dropped since listed. I think the owner is up in the air regarding letting it actually go. Let us know. |

I am talking to allot of the guys on Carsales at the moment and the term "rare" and "collectible" is used quite allot, so last night I did some research into the 1M. As i am sure allot of you know there was an initial delivery of 130, then that was lifted to 300, there was a few more cars after that but the numbers are not exact. But whats does that mean in relation to being rare or collectible and ultimately price?
As a point of comparison I thought about the E46 M3 CSL which is also an iconic BMW and considered rare. There was 27 CSL's delivered in Australia with a price tag of $210,000. 13yrs later they are worth around half that depending on quality. We have 12x the amount of 1M's to CSL's. 1M Numbers - http://www.caradvice.com.au/201998/b...ps-production/ E46 M3 CSL Numbers - http://www.motormag.com.au/features/...csl-revisited/ Last edited by imske3000; 06-06-2016 at 06:22 PM.. |

CSL may be more collectible as its more classic E46 styling, and more authentic M engine.
1M is more appealing as a divers car, but mechanically the engine is not as durable due to issues with direct injection system, turbo, boost control, and cooling systems that are prone to failure into the future. |

1M's suspension design is better evolved than the E46. 1M can fit more rubber in the wheel arches. If choosing a track day car, the 1M seems a clear winner. |

If looking for a collectors car, I wonder if a mint condition E92 M3 may hold its value better than a 1M coupe.
Naturally aspirated BMW's have become a thing of the past, and the E92 M3 is the last of the breed. |

There are too many E92 M3s. 1M probably isn't at collectable status until a few more has it crashed or shipped to the UK .

I'm not convinced that they're genuine sellers if they truly believe the car is collectible. It's relatively rare, ok. But that doesn't equate to collectible status.
300 M2s were allocated for Australia initially too. Does that make it collectible? |
