By the way, guys. I've found out that BMW is going to have a few models made for their 100th anniversary next year. Specifically it is the 3.0 CSL, Z8, 2002tii, M1, 328 and 507 (all in 1:18). The shop from where I bought the 1 M lists them as available for pre-orders. I emailed the guy yesterday and he said he doesn't know the manufacturer of the models.

Sadly Sedona Red is the closest that you would have been able to get from the BMW Dealerships.

There is how ever another 1:87 or 1:64 scale Red Coupe that came from the BMW Dealerships that is made by Maisto.

The BMW part number is the same the part number that was used for the Blue and Black versions 80 45 2 149 158

They would have only cost a $1.00 or so originaly.

Maisto has also made versions for Supermarkets that were called Fresh Metal, I do not know if there is a Red version though.




Lastly there may be a possibility that Herpa may have made a general release Red 1:87th scale version but again I am not sure
They did make Sliver, Blue, Grey & White versions so it may be possible?

There is nothing on eBay but I have found three on the internet but I wouldn't hold any hope just yet.

What ever you do don't just buy them, contact them first to see if they have the model in stock and ask for photos as they could be damaged or second hand.

You will also want to know how much postage is to the USA.

Two are in Germany and one is in UK.

You have only been looking a couple of weeks, I spent 7 years looking for this MINI model.
It was a nightmare as I needed it to complete a set of 52 variations of the same model.

It was part of a promotional set that did not come with a part number on the boxes, although I knew the BMW part number it didn't help while searching as there are only a handful of people who know about the set.
Max told me they have a complete set on display in the Minichamps Museum.

You know I have always wanted to go visit the Minichamps Museum. But part of me doesn't want to be let down. I remember about ten years ago when I went to go visit Herpa (HO tiny scale train models) autos & trucks. Their "museum" was just a few display cabinets at their warehouse outside of Nurnberg. They didn't even make the stuff their. It was really depressing. Maybe one day I will venture up North(+5 hours) and visit Max's place.
