Questions for everyone…
Do you tend to keep your stock parts after modifications?
I’ve been trying to sell my stock intake system for a year now!
It’s not the compete set(no charge pipe), but I’m considering junking it…
I just don’t want to run into the “discontinued parts” scenario, or am I already in that boat lol…
Thoughts?

Used in good condition from a low mileage wrecked 128 lci.

Seems like maybe the LCI plastic used is a little different than the pre?

I usually do, unless the part is worn beyond repair.

I need to do that. Maybe when I have rusty oil pan replaced.

Also, appreciate the compliment. /s

I was wiggling the manifold out from underneath the car (on jack stands) and had to reposition myself in order to keep wiggling. I thought the manifold was secure, took one hand off for a second, and the manifold let me know that it was indeed not secure.

Did the third brake light with an OEM unit. The one I replaced was cracked and falling apart yet still held together by superglue. I wanted to fix this sooner than later since I just did the tail lights. Now... the old piece was a Standard Motor Products (SMP) from Rockauto, (I got into my order history to see what brand it was) and I remember that one cracking up and breaking in like 4 spots in the first month or two of it being on my car. I was fairly pissed. ANYWAY. Once I removed the old one I was super shocked to see a BMW logo on it. In my second pic the brand new OEM is on top, and the SMP one on bottom. They sure look the same to me. On closer inspection one of the little square holes on the center bottom was closed up compared to the old one but other than that, this got me looking at info on the "SMP" brake light.
The official BMW one said made in Italy on the box and when looking around at listing for STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS BTL112, this one on ebay
https://www.ebay.com/itm/404896621979
shows a country of origin as being Italy.

So to anyone that needs to replace theirs, get the one off Rockauto and save thirty bucks.

After a rough cold start the other day, and diagnosing that cylinder 4 had a leaky injector, I pulled this beauty out this morning.... seal completely gone.

Do it.
Just picked it up from the shop and paid $160 to get the keys back. All in all about $330.

It is not as loud as a muffler delete, but from what I gather it is very close to a BMW M-perf muffler for a fraction of the price.

Will post a vid on Friday when I have my woman start the car for me in the morning.

Seems like the original owner upgraded the exhaust shortly after acquiring the 135i new.
Did you put some new tips on the pipes? Interested in hearing a good sound clip when it's possible!

About two years ago, I had to replace my third brake light after the Grey Lady spent nearly a week in the hot sun in an airport parking lot. I bought my light and screws from FCPEuro.

The big surprise was that the part numbers (old vs new) matched exactly except the new light had a vertical fin on the street facing side but my trunk lid did not have a notch to match it. WTF? I communicated with FCPEuro and watched videos and wound up filing the fin off which made the light fit.

I'm not an experienced wrench but this one was a challenge.

Okay I am pretty sure that I did exactly as you did. After doing the coding u did, I am left with these lights on. I really need help fixing this.

When the headlight switch is manually set to lights on and parking lights the middle light in the tail light is on. When the headlight switch is set to off and auto the outermost light is on.

Please let me know where I should go from here

Actually drove it to work today! Been a few weeks, man whatta way to start a Friday!

In the process, reached a decision to go ahead and list the car for sale. It's just wrong to keep it sitting like I have for the past year, this beasty needs a home where it can be used and enjoyed like I have for almost 10 years now...

wonder how soon I can get it in for a good detailing....

((le sigh ))
