Which means you ride a horse. So unless the horse is riding you (freaky), majority of calories are burnt by the horse. I occasionally ride my buddies Yamaha but I don't call that cardio.

You've clearly never had a trainer make you drop your stirrups and post for over 30 minutes straight. Forget leg day at the gym, your butt wouldn't be able to leave the arena.

If you don't know what posting is, YouTube it. And then imagine doing it without stirrups. Shits so painful after you burn out.

And at 5'4 107lbs. I'm doing something right.

I would agree with Ra here - as someone that has rode Hunter/Jumpers and Western - a day in the stirrups is likely one of the most extreme leg workouts you can do...

Don't ride jumpers much anymore - old girlfriend has/had several that I would take out for the weekend.

A close friend has about 250 acres near the Tail of the Dragon and we take his Rocky Mountain Gaited Horses out for long weekend hikes overlooking Fontana...

The fact that you know what they are gives you brownie points. Now if you know how to tack up, bridle, and adjust your own stirrups, then I'd say things between us could get serious.
