'Cuse the pics, the upload space compresses them badly.
Can't believe how nippy this car is. Not good for my (Euro) E36 M3 haha. The speed, the sound (I love how the turbo is hardly audible and no Fast & Furious style blow-off valve) and with the modified stock muffler (making it a BMWP one) the sound is spot on. DCT's shifts are incredible. Can't wait to MHD Stage2 / xHP this. (It came with an MHD stage one, but since it has a downpipe, alu boost/chargepipe) and Wagner Evo2 intercooler, I can run a Stage2 and with MHD multimaps, I can always turn the % down). ![]() ![]()

Absolutely totally love what xHP did for my 2009 auto trans, truly a glorious improvement. Not only much faster shift times, but the overall logic is vastly improved.
I feel like there should be more positive adjectives there, it's that good. If it's even just half as good on the DCT you'll love it. It's been a few years now, but as I recall my experience was along the lines of- -just skip stage one, it's all about the fuel economy -stage two is, well, really nice. Bit faster shifts, bit better logic... -stage three..... yeah baby yeah that's what daddy wants. ![]() Guessing a lot has change/improved over the years, but that's what I remember

Took my car in this morning to get a couple recalls done and was given this 25 230i xdrive as a loaner.
Aside from awd and engine differences its the same car as my 128 i feel. Despite being a turbo 4 its a little more powerful than the n52. They ran into an issue with other cars and had to keep mine another day. Which they're like hope this doesn't inconvenience you, nah im enjoying this new one. I do like it but not enough to catch another car payment again. ![]() |

Air vent fins also suffer from browning - somewhat fixed that too and are holding up ok so far.

That’s funny. The Tokyo dealership was always timing my inspection only when they had a newer 5 series available to loan me - nah, those days are over. In all honesty everything post the E39 felt like a downgrade which I always ranted to them about - which they’d politely bow and say sumimasenn!

An unexpected compliment from SA (who are usually indifferent to the older cars)
Stoped by the dealer to check when my brakes were last replaced. Apparently they delete file history on a rolling five year duration 🙄. SA offered to take a quick look at them if I had the car with me. When he brought it back, he commented he would’ve believed the car had 40,000 miles, not the current 203,000 miles based on how it drove. He also appreciated the short shift kit😬 |

Picked up a bolted 3.46 diff from a local yard for $150. For that price I can swap it in to see if I like it over the 3.08 and down the road go for an LSD. This car is just for fun so I'm going to run it for a bit to see if I like it. Hell, just turn down the tune to get some more rowing in before I'm doing ... straight to jail.
I didn't want to, it was required. https://photos.app.goo.gl/HXs1HUEfpmyKRDR28 |

Coded my fRM3 module, so the rear led strips now also light with the front angels/brow as DRL's.
I don't have mine on, because during bright daylight you don't really see them anyways, so when it's dark enough for me, I also want the nice rear led strips to be on.

Put my 128i in storage over 5 months ago for winter and finally took it out today to change the oil and give it a wash.
Found someone put a huge fucking scratch in the back bumper, right through the paint. Absolutely livid right now. |

That sucks! Any chance it isn't through the paint? You probably know for sure but I've seen a few scratches over the years that look bad but actually polished out.
I suppose you know all about filling it in, sanding, polishing, etc. It can be fixed but that still sucks it's there! And that you have to deal with it. |

Reset DCT adpations and oh my, it already drove great, now it's even better.
I also re-learned clutch 1/2 bitepoints, which can never hurt. I really recommand this, specially if it ws never done before.

Installed an Ultra-Gauge today. I know the engine management safeguards will kick in if the coolant temp gets too high but I just . . . have a need to keep track of it myself. So, in addition to the coolant temp, there are like eleventy-seven other gauges it can display so I will need to decide on which ones to put up on the display. Battery voltage, probably.
The base is mounted on a thin piece of sheet metal that slips under the edge of the air vent. It isn't quite tight enough so I may add some grippy padding to the underside so it is less likely to work loose. ![]() ![]() ![]()

The TPMS inactive warning light has been coming on for the past few days but yesterday I drove it to the family Easter gathering at BIL's house and on the way back it was gone. It has done this before - inactive for a couple of days, then fine for a while. So, I need to figure out if the problem is the antenna or the module itself (or something else?). Really, it is another reminder that I should look into the process for coding out TPMS in favor of the Flat Tire Monitor (FTM) system, which uses wheels speed sensors to sense difference in rolling tire pressure, a simpler but less precise system that does not require a sensor in every wheel/tire.
I'm really looking forward to the day that airless tires are in use and production (and provide similar or better functionality): ![]()
