heh, at least there are no leaks

unless the mishimoto alum rad drain bolt starts leaking again.... screwy part is I picked up a new CSF OE replacement to drop in or give to the buyer with the car if I sold it privately. Soon as I got the CSF in my hands the Mishi stopped leaking. ((sigh))

Something that really surprised me was how perky it still was after removing MHD and xHP tunes.

That m-rep bumper with the massive IC always did it for me

It's a super easy repair, minus cleaning up the engine bay when you're done. I was able to get to it by just removing the little snorkel on the air intake that connects behind the grills, then 2 bolts, one on each side of the oil cooler lines. Able to get to them without removing anything else. Took me all of about 15 minutes.

After investigation I definitely blew the line. Hemorrhaging oil. Luckily I’ve removed those lines previously so it is easy. But the mess as you mention sucks a** to deal with.

Can't imagine there are folks looking for E82 cars that aren't buying for performance.

I definitely wonder how many unmolested E82 coupes are out there. Mine certainly doesn't qualify.

There is an old lady that lives near me that drives a BSM 135. Looks pristine every time I’ve seen it.

If I ever run into her by happenstance I plan to ask her price.

I knew you were thinking of selling but hadn't caught up with the fact you did it. Sorry to learn this. Every time I change my oil I think of your kindness in sending me the oil hatch door way back.

I think the 'Known Flaws' section sheds a little more light on the seemingly low price. Overall I think solid deal for both parties.

Does seem a bit low, especially considering it has lived in a no salt area. I'm glad I didn't see it until it sold. It's very near where I live.

There is a 10,000 mile 2013 128i on Cars and Bids that is up to $12k with a day left. It's an AT but the miles, and it's a CA car so no rust consideration.

AT kills the value of these cars for sure.

Drove it to a racetrack. Drove a bunch of new EVs on the track for a demo event. Wish I could have driven the 1 instead.

Oil line replaced with new gaskets. All leaks up above are finally resolved.

But we’ve been having a major heat wave here and the air conditioning isn’t blowing ice cold like it used to. It’s always something lol.

Drove to a new independent mechanic I found in town who handles foreign and domestic (Japanese) cars.

Lined up my next vehicle inspection with him for Aug. He can also help me fit spacers for when I get the new PS5’s hopefully around the same time.

I’ve had it with the BMW dealer in my town who I’ve been using for statutory car inspections for both the E82 and F10.

Since moving out from Tokyo a couple years ago I’ve been using the Yokohama based BMW dealers and the customer service is just not right for me.

If this new guy works out that would be great. He also accepts parts that you bring in for maintenance/replacement which is awesome for jobs I can’t do in my driveway. He handles MINI as well so that’s a plus if the better half has issues too.

Picked up an 034 M3 front control arm kit from someone who had it listed as "random VW Audi parts" for $100. Only a couple more pieces left to assemble the full kit. Then I need to decide on shocks. Thinking Koni Special Active.

Sorry to hear that. If you haven't paid yet save your money. If you have, throw the 034 parts in the scrap recycler and buy OE lemforder/TRW. It's worth it.

034 bushings and bearings are known to fail prematurely. Absolute garbage.

Shocks... I like Bilstein for a damper+springs setup. I think the best combo is B8 and Swift Spec R. But I'd advise you to call Barry at 3DMotorsport and have a conversation about your car and Ohlins. The valving on Ohlins helps control the short chassis of the E82.

All well worth it.

Good luck!

Check out motorspotreg.com they have track days list there all the time, as well as lots of other tracks. Took my car there for a weekend as it's only 45 minutes away. Nice looking car!

Not BMW-related, but drove to Portland to pull a front left fender and rear bumper for the family hauler (Golf Sportwagen TDI Mk7) that got beat up in Pittsburgh while my daughter was going to college there.

Once the swaps are done, I can move my 128 back into the garage and start on the Koni Sport install, brake lines, and rear brake rotor replacement (plus I'll have a drivable second car I can use).

Thanks! Yeah I'll check it out. Lime rock is actually a bit closer for me, I drove about an hour and 20 to get to Thompson.

Cool track. But going around it in silent cars was a little nauseating. Prefer the rattles and groans of the 1 Series
