In replacing my rear subframe, all the brake lines needed to be detached. Holy crap those flare nuts SUCKED. ended up cutting them all off on the subframe hardline side because they just kept twisting.
Thankfully, the m3 subframe had half the miles as my original one and had all the subframe herdlines still attached. With functioning flare nuts. That was prob the worst part of the entire job. |

With two kids and a more than full time work there's some things I farm out to my shop now. That qualifies as one of them. It's the stupid shit that goes wrong and sets you back bigly and I don't want to have to deal with it when it does.

100%. I’ve got 2 kids myself and I hear you.
Unfortunately, since it was part of the larger subframe and diff job, had to do it myself so I could drive to get the alignment. If it were just the brake lines, would def have a shop deal with it. I hate brake fluid. |

I daily the car in the winter months and use to for fall/winter weekend road trips to mtns and such. I get it that most like these cars with 6sp and for track but dang, they're just cool for driving and even being a little GT. I've resolved that as miles add up and parts need replaced I'll either go stock or just modest upgrades. Cheers all |

Finally replaced the armrest latch. A member here made extras out of nylon, and created a YouTube video to do the swap. First time in 7+ years I have a working armrest.

Put in a new under hood liner. The old one's fabric was getting pretty pilled and it shrank a bit over the years, tearing at the tabs that tuck into the hood.

That's cool. Didn't know that was an option. I should probably put one in with the CF hood when it arrives

I would be impressed if any CF hood had the provisions to mount the stock hood liner.

Even if not... Should be as easy as drilling some holes. I'd assume it's held on with trim clips through the support scaffold correct?

I do wonder why some do and some don't. Mine doesn't. I've never seen one that does actually.

Due to lack of time, decided to send my car to a bmw specialist locally (hint: they build F chassis M3 wagons).
Ended up getting a $6k estimated repair bill. Oil pan gasket, rear suspension, rear diff bushings, valve cover, ofhg (I just changed this), brakes. Lots of issues. Rear end does feel like….rear end. I’ll have them address the rear suspension and diff bushings. Oil pan gasket another day. Everything else on my own. Does anyone have experience with these brake rotors by the way? If not recommended, which cross drilled rotors is recommended for these cars? |

I knew about the hood liner and there are always the discussions about whether or not it would act as a heat insulator, which I wouldn’t really want on my 135i.
Also, it only covers a pretty small portion of the hood, where in my old E36, it covers it completely.

These two bastards. This is the hose at the water pump end of the engine block main coolant feed line. Also replaced the whole Mickey mouse hose. Fully uninstalled and reinstalled triple checking every connection in the water pump and thermostat system.
So now praying my coolant leak isnt the turbo coolant line.
