WoW I wonder why BMW is still testing a turbo in the U.S. when it is clear that speedfeak has proven to us all that there will be no turbo in the U.S.
Previous e90 TURBO being tested in the US. Please notice the intercooler! The new pics also show an intercooler. |

Any real reason a 335 would be venturing around in CA this early on? It's not even supposed to be here for most of a year (if the rumors are true). I would have expected spy shots from some distant BMW testing ground or at least Europe.

Ok...? I don't see any signs of a different engine. The only thing I see on this is the Active Cruise Radar on the front...lol

Might be an extra radiator for the bigger displacement and not an intercooler.

Yes, the tradition for the M is to have quad exhaust and I'm sure the next M will have quads (whether they are all used or not). But quad exhaust is not necessary and it would be a good disguise for a test car to only use dual exhausts. The Dinan M3 only uses 2 exhaust pipes even though they keep quad exhausts showing for the M tradition. http://www.dinancars.com/whitepapersFile.asp?ID=3 Looking at the pictures it appears the dual mufflers and separated exhausts is more an M tradition. A regular 3 series has one muffler with dual exhaust on the same side. This car has dual mufflers with what appears to be slightly enlarged exhausts. So these pictures appear to be leaning toward this being an M3. As I stated earlier I cannot be sure just by this picture. |
