MHD 8.1 maps

Has anyone tried these yet? Just got released today/yesterday (timezone dependent) sand I'm wondering if there is any benefit in flashing V8.1 stage 1 over v7 stage 1.

Ok I updated.

It's definitely different.
Car is less aggressive in terms of throttle mapping. I think for daily driving this is better.

Sorry I'm on the app and can't see your sig details, if they're there. What trans does your 1er have? And when you say less aggressive throttle mapping, is that with the "sport" button pushed, normal driving mode, or both?

Thanks for the info

Note, if you and the car actually deserve MHD these will be one and the same since DSC OFF disables the sport throttle map change.

Hah. I totally get what you are saying.

But you don't know that I have tweaked quite a bit between the button on and off - just for long highway trips that make up ~30% of my miles. I use the sport button as a "highway mode" with a pretty aggressive throttle map that makes passing etc super convenient.

So that's why I wanted some more info on how MHD implemented the new maps.

I have the 6AT steptronic transmission.
In normal (non sport) mode the throttle seems more linear (linear throttle mappings is off).
I'm not sure how the sport mode was impacted as it's generally faster anyway.

The dyno graphs I've seen seen to support my experience. Everything is toned down a bit before 3000rpm.

I think I like the 8.1 maps more as I'm not always hiring the traction control limits anymore because it's tamer. If I want responsiveness then I'll flick over to manual mode with DSC off.
