Ordered the right side which is a bigger rod, part number is same as listed, 37142283867 <--ALL YOU NEED EDIT: Spoke with Harold from HPAutowerks. He's been really helpful. The only part needed is in fact what is listed here by nordique14 as 37142283867. Tischer also has the set on their website confirming. (The confusion was when going to the dealer they convinced me to buy both sides, but now I know.) Thanks for the help. I will give my impressions once installed Last edited by jabwind51; 04-12-2010 at 11:57 AM.. |

G'day from Oz.
I've just sourced all the front E92 M3 bits as per above and I'm about to attempt the install. I'm no mechanic but I can do basic stuff... Is there anything I should look out for with this install - including special tools? How about torque settings of the reinstalled bolts etc? I've looked for an E82 workshop manual online but can't find anything so far Cheers, Tim. |

Its not a terribly difficult install by any means. Look at some of the more descriptive DIYs on e90 post for specific tools. An impact wrench helps get off some of the tighter bolts/nuts. Like I mention in the first post, you will need a torx to hold the bolt from spinning while you remove the nut on the hub. Some lube helps guide the wishbone into the subframe. These are the torque specs someone from the forum gave me: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=314109 Most important!!! YOU WILL NEED AN AlIGNMENT! I would be very careful if you have to drive any major distance to the alignment shop. If you do, I would suggest trying to get the toe somewhat close to within spec before you drive...it will be scary! Hope this helps, Tim

Thanks Tim.
Before you posted this I put the new gear in yesterday. Wasn't too difficult, just a bit awkward doing at home in the garage. Took me about four hours though all up! Once all in I drove (slowly) about 2 km to get the alignment. Didn't have time to set it close myself as the workshop was closing early. Twas scary. Toe was so far out that the car didn't want to roll down the hill! Toe now set to zero. Camber worked out at -1.0 each side unloaded, or -1.2 LHS & -0.8 RHS with 80kg me sitting in the drivers seat (RHS over here). I've still got the strut locating pins in place. After reading the posts on the link above I might attempt to retorque with the weight of the car on the wheels. I didn't use new bolts as suggested here either. Should I? I also had to source another nut for the new regulating rod as it attaches to the M3 arm differently to the 135 arm - where it just clips on. I'm sorry I didn't remove the restriction in the CDV while I was under there. Just ran out of time Cheers, Tim. ps Why don't we call everybody Tim to save confusion?
