Release date???
I feel like with these test mules adding more and more by the day the release date could be sometime in 2011... Like when the first 1'ers hit the US in march of 2008....Or is the earliest truly 2012?....
Either way I think I will wait a year to see if there are similar chronic problems like the HPFP/third brake light on the 135i... but either way the earlier the better!!

Well, considering that there is no chance they can get it out in the next few months, it won't make any sense to release it as a 2011 model year car. Therefore, the earliest it would probably come out would be for a 2012 model year, which means at the very earliest, it would be arriving from the factory in April/May of 2011. Might even be a few months later than that too, who knows.
I just wish it came out this year. I just ordered a 135i, as I needed a new car and I can't wait an entire year before getting one... the M1 would have been perfect... Haha I guess I will just have to settle.. |

Didn't SCOTT mention something in the range of next April?
Or am I making that up?

A very special Christmas gift they can't f*cking open for 6 months.
...yes, I was the little kid that rolled downstairs late at night to tear the corners on my presents the night before...

Per Scott's post, the Euro M1 will be ready around Dec 2010... but won't be introduced in the U.S. until early summer 2011.
Does this mean buyers in U.S. can't do Euro Delivery until summer 2011? |

Seriously, marketing play of words. How is it a Xmas present if I can't have it.

The "Production" car will debut in mid-late December - the thinking is... Give the consumer a very special Christmas gift. The car will go on sale in Europe in Spring 2011 and be available in North America for early summer. Scott is saying we will see the complete/production car in December, a "Christmas gift."
