I can think of a BMW with quad exhaust before those cars (and it wasn't an M).

Yep you are exactly correct, I guess I was trying to point out that they came around in that generation of cars.
Although as it was pointed out the 8 series has some.

I always thought the 1 series look very plain. This M1 is starting to look very hot. All it needs is the bump on the hood carbon fiber roof and quad exhaust and its good to go.

I like those fenders.

Quads are nice to look at, but it's a bit pointless, but with a M, it would be nice to have them!

Guys I love how large the flares are going to have be to cover the added track and larger tires. This thing reminds me of an old 911 turbo and how purposeful they looked. I was not really considering getting one of these but I think I have changed my mind.

Also doing the change to quad exhaust is not that simple. On the E46 M3 they actually use a different stamping in the trunk and from what I have seen in my 135 they will probably do the same here. That could be the reason we have no quads yet or maybe they won't add them to save weight.

Can people please drop the weight/quad exhaust theory!! For those of us that are serious, an Akrapovic Ti exhaust is a huge weight saving and will make our cars considerably mroe unique!

Quads are not neccesary.

Doubles are fine on one side.

It is really shaping up nicely. Funny how just a few weeks ago a lot of sources out there were saying "no M1" and now with all these spy shots and videos popping up it looks like a very true reality. This is exciting stuff ...

Don't miss what Scott just posted:

"I spoke to an M engineer who says that over the past few months they have managed to remove some weight out of the car.

The Cabrio has been spotted at the FIZ."
